hi guys,

could you please let us know the total amount due. Do we need to separately send money for these items or together. Please also send account info by PM.

I don't know the total yet.Last time it was Rs 4000 excluding transformer. This time it could be little more as no of participants are less.I will let you know the total once I gather all components.I will PM total to everyone before shipping kits.Transformer cost has to pay separately to Om as his brother is helping us for Transformer. He will be personally visiting transformer factory in Hyderabad to get us trafos.
EDIT: Btw I got all the boards today, will post pics later.

Is this Rcore for the LSA? It requires only 5v right? Is it recommended to tap a 5v from an existing pre (Acoustic Portrait PM1) on which the LSR is going to be added or do we need a separate PS?

One trafo can power B1+LSA+CNC.Yes LSA needs 5v and you can power it from your existing pre.I may be wrong here more experience members can answer this.

I will take one too.

Just a thought, how can we make the power supply and the trans external? I have seen people are using some connectors similar to balanced interconnect connectors. Is there any separate connectors available for this application or can we use the balanced IC connectors?

You can use Xlr connector for this.I am using this on my CNC,will post pics tomorrow.

Planning to make the PS external for PM1 (revamping the enclosure w/ tubes exposed.) \B1\LSA. How long can we run the power interconnects? What about the EMI/RF interference issues? Is it including the PS circuits or just the trannys? Later for the power amp (dual trannys for biamping) and TT also.

Let us know what you are planing to connect to PS. Wires and shields need to be planned along. Some additional caps will require when PS wires lands into another destination cabinet through more than 12" long wire.

PM1 + B1 + LSA will be in a single box and the power supply for all will be in another box.

What all need to be considered for separating the PS? My intention is to shield / separate the PS and the interference from the audio circuitry.

You can use an old computer's SMPS cab for keeping power supply and transformer. It already has IEC on back, that can be used for connecting to mains and trafo.

There are two parts in PS - Heavy transformer and completed PCB. Main noise is upto transformer and its output is generally subject of noise and filtration.
  1. You can keep transformer outside in separate cab and connect using XLR M/F headers. This servers good if no DC is given out.
  2. You can keep everything trafo and PS board outside into separate box and all wires are running into respective destinations. Near destination PCB for noise/ripple rejection, you need to connect extra 0.1+100uF,40V paralleled from PS to GND with correct polarity. This is because you have used long PS wires
