Sachin, I recieved my kit this morning at my home. I am yet to go home and check it out. That was a really fast delivery. I hadnt expected it to come so soon.

Thanks so much.

Has anyone in Bangalore built this? I'd be really interested in auditioning it and if it turns out better than my McCormack TLC-1, then building one whenever the next group order happens. I'd be really glad if someone could get their B1 over to my place for an audition.

Thanks!

I have built it but have not tested it with any other power amplifier since my power amplifier is in construction phase.
Note that I have tested it briefly with some source and could hear faint sound from the speakers. So I think it is working fine. If you are ok to try it out, then I can get it to your place. It may need some burn in as well. So you can keep it for few days if you want.

Thanks

Thank you so much for a generous offer. I'm sending you a message.

Hi Sachin,

Received B1 and Power supply kit this evening with excellent packing. BTW cay you please share some drawing to connect this new volume pot? It is very different from the volume pot which I used before. I am planning to integrate CNC, SSP, B1 and Source selector all in one box.

Regards,

Santosh

With provided pot don't use SSP. That's not required unless you want extra gain. But I suggest enjoy transperancy of B1.
Did you get R-Core Trafo?

About pins -
Hold shaft towards you and pins upwards. Two rows of three pins each. Each row is for one channel.

Now for each channel, pins at your left hand side are 'CW' middle are 'W' and right hand side are 'CCW'

To enjoy transperancy of B1 I need to add SSP before B1 and volume will be controlled by by B1 right?.

Hi Santosh,
please refer this pic for volume pot connections on B1.

To enjoy transperancy of B1 I need to add SSP before B1.
If you really want to enjoy uncolored (transparent) sound, don't add SSP before B1, use the 47K ST pot.
opamps alter the sound signature and different listeners like different opamps, though there are opamps which sound 'transparent', but I find it comfortable to call the sound as transparent/uncolored/neutral when there is no opamp in the chain, of course other design aspects also play a role in making a preamp sound neutral like passive design, no feedback gain, buffered output and thankfully B1 has it all.
you can experiment and settle down for the sound which best suites you.

Yes Sandeep is correct!

(TT->phono,if any; Sources )->Source selector -> B1 (with 47k vol) -> output RCA
You are done!

Hi all,
Please find Source selector components position below:

RL-1 to RL-5 = Relays (please match them with PCB)
D1 to D5 = 1N4148 Diode (please match them with PCB)
R1 to R10 = 4.7k resisters
T1 to T5 = 2n2222a (please match them with PCB)
Reg = 7812 Regulator (please match it with PCB)
C1 = 10uf cap
LED1 to LED5 = LEDs are polarised,longer lead is +ve,match LED cutout(-ve side) with cutout on board.in the output connector of source selector board, left and right channels are reversed.Please see below pic for reference.Click on the image for fullsize.
