Dude 43D450 and 43D490 are just 1024*768 resolution, technically cannot even be called HD. Comparing it with Full HD panasonics is not fair. If you wanna compare side-by-side, then do a 50UT30 with 51D550 or 50ST30 with 51D550.

Today I went and had demo in devi international today evening... but 51D550 was at the bottom... still played some 1080p contents from my hdd... it looked nice....But I felt video was dark...I dont think it is factory settings. but I think I have to maintain minimum 10 feet for 51D550 to watch SD channels...
I checked D6600 with same content... but I felt it was too colorful....
(I got from some other thread that... 63K includes 2 (3d galsses)....But Will there be any new year offer for 51D550?
I am planning to buy HT also.. I wanted to have demo of Onkyo Ht3400.. pls suggest where can i go and have?

i also agree colors look artificial on D6600...infact even the motion looks a bit artificial on this set....SD on almost all 51inchers will look like that....but in mu opinion plasmas can deliver more tolerable SD...
For me it showing price for Gurgaon (I am actually in Bangalore) and I do not see any discount! Not sure why is that so.
Nevertheless, I am planning to organize a group buy for 58k hopefully with glasses.

I think the artificial look of the video is because of the Motion Pluz which results in the soap opera effect. If you off this feature in the setting menu you will overcome this problem. But then you encounter motion judder during videos, which is fine with people like me. This has been discussed elsewhere in the forum.

Count me... for 58K group buy.. I have sent you a PM regarding this...
I did that mistake last year and returned it immediately when I realized of the pathetic clouding and flashlighting of blacklighting. TV looks more like a duplicate "Dilli Made" than anything else. Even a regular LCD TV is far superior in backlight uniformity.

First decide if you want to buy a plasma or LED. Samsung definitely is the choice for LED and Panasonic for Plasma. Right now there are decent deals going on Panasonic plasma TVs. Search the forum to find out who can help you with the deal...

Buy 51D550 without any second thoughts. I am presently playing Assassins Creed Revelations in 3D and the euphoric feeling one gets while standing atop a tower in Constantinople and taking a leap of faith is priceless !!
Playing games on 51D550 is insane, the colors are so rich and natural !! Also 51D550 is capable of led like brightness(approx 160 cd/m2) which no panasonic plasmas(60 cd/m2 for vt20) and even Samsungs own D8000 plasma(90cd/m2) is not capable of producing and is tailor made for games in 3D!! Also its got 18ms input lag!!
