Please suggest Plasma TV.

When i started this thread, i have same thing in my mind that in
current plasma=I have been using my panasonic V20 for over 2 years now and have not followed any of the above and yet I see no issues with IR or static.

Later i also saw that it depends on how you use plasma. I think, you take care of it by not letting static image or otherstuff. You mostly watch movies, rarely use pc with it.
So may be its working for you.

In my home all these SD channels gonna be viewed by family members without taking care(changing channel and likewise stuff will not gonna happen in my case).
Now you are telling me its fine, there will be no problem of burn in without taking care of it but other users reported is not same. They are getting problems even they took care, even after 200hours.
And i am kinda not rich:p so can't take risk, this tv must run atleast 5-6 years...

In plasma, good choise i have samsungE490 and panny 42x50 both are 42K around for me but can't make decision :p

Anyway @just4kix, here i found new LCD beside videocon

Sony 40bx450 38k and panny 42u5d 42k, do you think these are better than samsung 40EH5000 LED?
In sony and panny, definitely sony lcd is better? has 2 hdmi and lesser price although not VAT paid.
I like tho brighter image and more color.

You are absolutely correct in your assessment, your usage conditions will not suit a plasma, its just being forced upon you to satisfy personal ego and plasma fanboyism, later on when you get burn-in the same people wont respond and would even suggest cutting off your DTH connection like gangrene like this thread of an expensive plasma considered to be the best: http://www.hifivision.com/televisio...-first-impressions-reviews-tweaks-etc-37.html

Also go through this threads:

http://www.hifivision.com/television/30103-plasma-owners-you-facing-dreaded-ir-burn-issue.html

And Finally among the LCD and LED you have shortlisted above, samsung 40eh5000 is the best option.

@aakashr
I am not confused, just saying that both available in plasma at 42K here.
clearly samsung E490 is better to choose as its 3d with 2 3d glass.
I meant, i can't choose plasma. Samsung 40EH5000 LED is almost final but just4kix said about lcd so searched about them a bit.
You watch SD daily but how much?
Here requirement is like 7-8 hours daily SD channels without taking care...
@just4kix
Ah so samsung 40EH5000 it is and if Sony 40ex430 price, i will find near 37-38K instead 41-42. Will go for Sony.

You must do what your heart tells you - not me, not anyone else - because you alone can judge what suits your needs best. If Samsung 40EH5000 is meeting the requirements, then why not? To hell with Sony, Panasonic, LG and whatever. :)

Hey guys, i came across one more TV which i can buy, its 44800rs with VAT paid at infibeam. ( can't buy without VAT 38-40k+ TV)
LG 42LS3400 its edge LED but without local dimming(don't know how much local dimming affects tho). So is that better than samsung EH5000 direct LED? I searched and found that edge-LED is better then direct LED.
Another thing is size than samsung as its +2" more.
And ofc 1 year warranty as compare to samsung which is dealer warranty.
I saw at amazon, it got good review. What do you think?

Do u think amazon's reviews are competent enough to buy a tv....
Ofc not thats why i started thread here :p, amazon is just general feeling about stuff. Funny thing is at LG shop here, they are selling at same price lcd LG 42cs560 like that models which only has 1 hdmi. While this LS3400 model has 2 hdmi and LED.

Here is a detailed review of that LED set: LG 42LS3400 LED HDTV Review - TelevisionInfo.com

To be precise even television info posted black level of that tv to be lowest of all..i.e. other models of sony and samsung have far better black level and thus higher contrast ratio than that..
Most of buyers don't go with television info review cause where cnet, what hifi, home theatre magazine and flatpanelhd review give high rating to a tv in their review, television info give low rating of that tv.
Here they mentioned that model LG 42LS3400 got a very good pic quality..but with that black and low contrast ratio..I don't think so.

So lake you think, Samsung EH5000 is better than this LG model? i can't compare them side by side as none of shop have em both. Actually if picture quality of LG is 9.5 and samsung EH5000 is 10, i would go with LG due to other benefits.
BTW I talked to near LG shop, he said if you buy from flipkart, infibeam. Company doesn't provide warranty and he was very sure about it. Giving me 50000rs price of same model when i told that i am getting it at 44800rs around.
**just confirmed from LG customer care that LG will provide warranty on online purchase.

Generally companies don't provide warranty on online purchase.

Samsung model pic will be better than the Lg model and also samsung is providing upto 3yr extended warranty with a price..will always suggest to buy tv from showroom only.

There are many cases that tv purchased from online ended up having scratch on screen, already added usage hour etc.

Well finally guys.
As i said due to some reasons my budget became less around 37K and family declined to buy with dealer warranty TV from ebay. So there was no option left to buy 40" TV for me.
But must need to buy TV as i was getting reimbursement. Went to Showroom which had LG and samsung model. Liked Samsung Eh5000.
So bought 32" Samsung EH5000 at 33k with 50 movie pack(useless basically :P)
Even tho samsung model is direct LED than edge led model of LG 32ls4600, i liked it. LG 32ls4600 was 36500rs here.
Connected with laptop and its working as monitor also nice ^^
Watched 1080p and it is really good.
I compared Samsung EH5000 model to sony ex650, sony pic quality was better but price was also 11000rs more so overall it wasn't worth it for me as my budget was 36-37K.
As i have 29"CRT TV so i will basically use this TV as monitor and play pc games/HD movies on it.

Thanks for everyone.

Congrats on your new purchase. Even I would say that won't see any significant difference on a side-by-side watching with EX-650. So you have got a good TV and enjoy watching it.

Should i need to buy stabilizer for sam 32 EH5000?
Any benefit from upgrade firmware?

I would say it is worth an investment in getting a stabilizer. It is just a protection for your TV.
As far as the firmare upgrade, please do it only if you see useful for you. The details on the new firmware will be available in the Samsung website and it will also what good things that the new firmware brings. See if you are convinced and feel useful, then you go for upgrade. Other wise, i would suggest not to upgrade unless you see very buggy feature hindering your usage.

This TV has triple protection feature and says that specially does work what stabilizer do so was confused about stabilizer.

A surge protecter is something that I would recommend first.

Firmware update will help in smart tv features and apps such as new features, new apps, better support, java upgrade, etc. It will not make an iota of difference to the picture or audio quality.
