Post your latest AV purchase(s)......

A quick post to keep things in perceptive.

As I was moving into my new flat, I had done 3D software designs on how my HT in my living room should look like. This design was to scale. What with a projector and a 120 inch screen and all. Speakers of choice back then was the Q500's and matching centre.

That was 6 years back !!!!

Now after a patient wait for a very long time, I am closer to what I dreamed of. Overhearing Better half referring to her dear hubby as um 'Crazy', 'Lost it' etc in her conversations with her friends !!!

By the time my dream theatre is complete, I guess my 6 year old will be using it more than me with his chromecast and games !!!!

Life !!!

The POP of death just happened here with my SR6004. I was watching TV, Dolby Digital was the audio mode. The video feed from the STB was having issues and was pixelizing, along with this the audio was cutting in and out.

I left the room just for a moment and then a big POP (but no smoke or smell) and the AVR went into some kind of very deep coma and the standby Led flashing. Then I unplugged the unit while tracking down forums for the reset instructions.
Tried out the SURR+EXIT+CLEAR system error reset, but now the LED is blinking slowly instead. RIP SR6004

I got a new AVR Marantz NR1509:

Sad to know your AVR died on you...

The Marantz brand definitely has its fans... this looks like a new launch, congrats on the new purchase... neat setup.
Any reason for downsizing from 7.1 to 5.2, which brand are those cute tiny speakers and is the TATA STB only source?

Yes @flat_listener, this model was introduced last year 1st quarter... actually I am not downsizing, my living room setup is basically 5.1
SR6004 is borrowed from my HT after I upgraded to separates. The 5 identical speakers are Scandyna MicropPod with MicroSub.

The sub conked off... so presently I am using Velodyne Impact-10. As for the sources, I have Amazon Fire stick, TATA HD, and DUNE HD MAX media player.

New addition to my home theater... DUNE HD 4K DUO.
I will be buying a 4K blu-ray player also for spinning few disks... will update on that later.

The DUNE HD MAX mentioned in post #3135 was in my HT till I upgraded...

Oculus Rift S has arrived. Have to wait patiently for my Media PC which I might receive on Saturday. This can't be used with my existing laptop.

Hello All

I've made my first AV purchase ever, two days ago. I've auditioned Klipsch Sixes at Cinebels, Lavelle road, Bangalore and bought them immediately.
However, once I brought them home, realized they are big for my room and the left speaker couldn't be placed properly due to space constraints.

I've no complaints on the sound front. but placement issues. If both the speakers are placed close to the tv, I don't get stereo separation and also they look quite big.

I've contacted cinebels for return now but I was told they don't take returns. What is the way ahead for me. please suggest.6.jpg
