The 530 quote is a month old actually. They were offering some kind of Samsung HTiB. The B650 I was told costs 99k! The 6000(?) "LED" is for 1.18 with SUN HD and some other freebies thrown in.

Based on my internet research and limited show room visit, i am planning for Samsung LED UA40B6000. I will be visiting couple of showrooms this and next week.

Anyone know what is the best price for this in the market. Also any suggestion on any dealer (preferably tambaram, velachery, adyar area).

Samsung LED 40B6000 (MRP: 125K) + Boston Acoustics sound bar, woofer (19.9K) + xbox 360 (16.9K) + 3 yrs warranty (12K) ==> guess what

99.9K total.. in Reliance Digital in Hyderabad..

Considering all of the above, I guess TV only we can bargain for 70K...

I bought from them Denon 390 HT with Pioneer DVD player free and got good price also..

you may want to try it.. but make sure you get sealed boxes.. I found couple of open boxes for Denon and asked sealed box after seeing them....

Is there any reason why they are giving huge discount on 40B6000, MRP is 125K and selling at ~70K means whopping 44% discount... are they clearing stocks for 2010 models?

E-zone is offering 6% cashback on Standard Chartered cards (upto a max cashback value of Rs. 5,000/-). Did u utilize this offer? Is the price that you have quoted after this cashback? If yes, which store did u buy it from - T. Nagar or OMR?

i was aware of the Standard chartered offer, but i couldnt use it. would have been sweet if i had the SC Card.

i bought it from Alwarpet ezone.

A friend bought Panny 32S10 LCD from EZone, Hebbal, Banglore for 36,990/- at zero interest EMI of 999/- and down payment of 13013/-. That's the cheapest among many shops. It also came with tata sky free as deal (you can drop price by 2000/- or so if not taking that).

They are clearing out old outdated stocks for the new 2010 sets that are going to be released in a week or two, Don't fall for this, u are surely going to get a discount but with an old piece, in some case where huge discounts are being offered the sets will be most probably display sets, so beware of these thieves who want to rob you off your money, there are plenty of such people in INDIA.

Discounts are always on old models. But if the model is good and the TV being sold is not defective ( manufacturing defect) or display sets then I think it really should not be a problem if one goes for old models .

Well not exactly true, yes discounts are there on older models, but not always, newer models launched around the festival season also have a discount, and there are other number of reasons when discounts are introduced on newer sets as well, and the reasons are infinite in that sense, with that being said i agree that not all sets will be defective or display sets but yes the majority one's will be, and if u don't have the knowledge to differentiate between the two, better to go for the newer models, than getting the raw end of the deal.
