regarding PQ sony is the best...i would say go for EX400 rather than EX500 the only thing it has the 100hz if u watch lots of sports.only..so choice is yours..

It was normal price...the Onam offer was a free DVD player with the set and a "Magic Spectacle" which gives assured cash back from 100 to 1000 bucks,thats all.

First shop i called (Quilon Radio Service)quoted me 75k saying MRP was 85k,and said he would enquire and see if reductions were possible and to call him back later.

The official Samsung Digital Plaza,Cochin quoted 73k with DVD player over the phone with no bargaining at all and when i said "Oh k, so 73k is the final price,right?" ,he was like "No sir, u just come, we will talk it out".

Then called this dealer(Malieakal Electronics,Kollam) and he gave me this 69k quote at first and was sure that i could reduce a 500 bucks from his tone itself He was insisting that the price was strictly for Ready Cash purchase only and not for EMI deal.I went through a freind of his, but i don't think that would have helped much with this quote as the guy was very friendly and jolly with all customers.Like i mentioned in the other thread, they were conducting an LG only sale and promoting LG aggressively, still he was very happy to push Samsung as well after we did a combined look at the LG plasmas.

BTW, i was given a samsung DVD Player C-370 instead of C-460 as was mentioned in the Samsung gift plan since they were not having any C-460,but i was notified in advance about it and i was not a bit bothered by it as DVD playback is of no importance to me and the selling price difference between the 2 if just 200 bucks or so.

U should easily get the C550 around 70k +/- 1k mate.....plz bargain hard and if 79k is the best u can get, seriously look into LG PK550 after reading through its thread to understand what u should look for in the set while demoing.Afterall, some 16-18k for the Samsung over the LG is a bit too much IMHO as the LG can be had for around 62-63k.
