Adder, you being a firm SONY LCD supporter, will certainly like to see you add to this....SONY pricing strategy :)

lol i am not exactly a sony supporter,if a better product comes from samsung or panny then i will be the supporter for that, but since in todays lcds and previous crts sony being the performance leader i support them.

anyway yes the prices of sony are consistent, and according to a bangalore dealer the profit margins for sony is less.
anyway in the US sony is so strict about its pricing that it keeps a cut off lets say for eg XBR8 lcd sony say the dealer no matter what u cannot sell at a price lower then $5000 so even if the dealer wants to give it for a cheaper price he cant because of the sony policy.
i remember a friend who bought a sony tv in the us for a price far cheaper then the market price, the dealer gave it to him on one condition "dont say anyone u got it for this price",the reason sony does this is because it wants to be a premium brand.

@ Geo, @ Real:

Can we take such discussion out of this thread pls? Let this thread focus only on latest prices being offered.

I have been hunting for televisions (LCD ) for quite some time now. During this time I have got some real good price offers for various FULL HD LCDs.
They are as follows
1) SAM LN40A550 57500/-
2) Sony KLV 40S400 63500/-
3) Philips 42PLF5403 59000/-
4) LG Jazz - 42 in 80FR - 60000/-

With all these price quotes I am kind of confused which model to go for. Please suggest.
Also I was planning to buy the Philips 4750 Home theater system but have been explained that these have been phased out. Philips has come out with another version Philips HTS 3568 for which I have been quoted a price of 17500/-
How good is the Philips HTS 3568.

Thanks in Advance.!!:)

Visited Reliance Digital today.

Panasonic Plasma PV8 price quoted: Rs.49,990. It was out of stock.
Asked the guy how Ezone was giving the Panasonic Plasma PV8 for Rs.46,990? He said it is out of stock everywhere hence Ezone was wanting to attract customers at that price. Lock them in and then deliver whenever stock was available.

PV80 price quoted around Rs.60K. This was in stock at the warehouse but not on display was told.

Only PV 50" PV80D was available readily. But that was out of budget currently.

Anyone planning on buying the Panasonic PV8 checkout the latest LG plasma Model No. LG-42PQ30 available for Rs 44,500/- ( approx ). Had a demo and was pretty impressed.

I am looking to buy LG 42LG60FR, LG 42LG80FR or Samsung LA40A550P1. Where have you got these prices in Bangalore ? I am unable to get such good prices.

Thanks

Anyone seen a good price for the 50" Samsung Full HD plasma? the PS50A550

It's an outstanding set, the MRPis 1.4 lakhs, i am thinking that if it is available for around 1 lakh, it should be a steal.

Today's TOI shows an ad for PCH (electronics store) wherein a Plasma shown in the ad costs Rs. 63K with a bunch of freebies. Plasma in the image looks?? like a Panasonic PV8?? The freebies add up to about Rs.19K. This really brings the price of the PV8 to about Rs. 44K which many folks in this forum have bought it for. So looks like the PV8 is still in the Rs. 44K range but Relinace Digital, Ezone etc. are still quoting Rs. 47K - Rs. 49K for the same, with no stock, as of a week ago.

Hello All
I would like to add a new model of 26 inch videocon LCD TV that has been launched recently. I think its called Hote / haute (?). Its a FULL HD tv, amazing contrast ratio and the picture looks fantastic. It actually looked much better than the samsung and quite close to the sony bravia i had compared it with yesterday.
The 26 inch Sony Bravia is 27900 in old delhi market - near lajpat rai market.
Samsung is about 25000.
Videocon is ...... just 21000 ! The new series (looks the same as samsung) can be seen below. They also have a 32 inch that i dont recall the price of.
Videocon Consumer Durables: Products - LCD TV
Also worth mentioning that Sony bravia was being given signal from TATA sky while this TV was being fed the regular cable .... not a fair fight. :p
cheers!

Hi Vaibhav,

Please go ahead. I have a 32" model and it is really good. Ofcourse u can't compare with sony or Samsung. But for 26" model it is value for money.

Anyone aware of best deals of

1. Panasonic 32LX80
2. Panasonic 23LX800

in Bangalore.

32LX80 is priced between 28-29 at compareindia and rediff, but both of them would not deliver to Bangalore. On the other hand eZone and croma price for 32LX80 is in the range of 35K !!!

Anyone aware of any better deal ?

Thanks
Saidu

Hi Saidu,

The only difference between the LE8 and LX80 is just the design of the frame of the LCD and its glossy finish. So its not a great buy paying extra money for just that.

Anyways had been to reliance digital yesterday the prices of LE8 and V8 with exchange was

1. LE8 - 29k with exchange and 30.5k without exchange.(Could bargain another 1k)
2. PV8 - 45k with exchange and 46.5k without exchange.(no more bargaining on this one)

Similar prices were quoted in e-zone, jayangar too.

Regards
Ashwin

Hello Ashwin,

Thanks for the information. I am told by a panasonic dealer that 32LX80 uses Alpha IPS panel that produces better performance where are 32LE8 is based on old LCD series. That was why I was trying to buy 32LX80. Even Panasonic web site confirms this.

Anyway.. Thanks for the price information.

Saidu

I have bought Samsung LA32A550 on 25 April.
I got it in 38500 bucks from "Griah Vaibhava", Bangalore.
along with this i got LG HDMI 1.5m cable in 900 bucks.
So in total i spent 39400 for LCD TV and HDMI Cable, i felt like good deal in non-festival season.
