Congrats on your purchase, it sure is an excellent tv. You could have negotiated more, as there is lot of margin on this model. Dealers are offering very competitive prices for the same now. Enjoy your purchase and do post a review once setup. specially for the soundbar setup with the TV.

Well, dont want to create any post-purchase dissonance, but curious to know what prices are being quoted. I tried quite a bit and could not get a better price.

By the way - this price is without sound bar.
I did not need it, as I have a proper 5.1 HT setup. Was able to get the price down to 1.9lacs because I did not want the sound bar.

Please call Samsung customer care, post the Tv is installed to buy extended warranty, ideal go for 3 years warranty so your tv is covered for the next 4 years for any issues that comes up.

With sound bar 1.85 lakhs is what i got from a local dealer and he said he can make the deal more sweeter if i drop in to book and give a token amount of 10k.

It may go lower than this, as the dealer said some new offers have come in. I have not booked it yet, as i am waiting for confirmation from Samsung on my cheque. But few members have posted that if you push it may go down to 1.8 or lower also. Once i have the money in the account then would pursue the same aggressively.

Do post a review once its set up and enjoy your purchase. Its an awesome TV.

Hi
I'm being quoted Rs 2.82 Lacs for Samsung 55F9000 TV by Croma. This is the latest 9 series UHD tv. Also the Sony 55inch 4K at around the same price.
1. Which one is better option?
2. Is the price too high ?
3. Is it worthwhile to spend on a 4K tv right now ?
Thanks in advance

Atleast in my view, 4K tv is useless now [in India].
India is still trying to get Blu-ray for most of the movies.
There are not true 1080p channels exist in India.
So getting 4K for that price is useless. You can get much better 1080p model for 1L and deposit the rest of the 1L in bank.

Probably after 5-6yrs, when more 4K models are out with better technologies, you can spend the rest 1.5L to get better one at that time.

It's simple, do you have any 4K content to play on it? I'm quite sure the answer is no, so any 4K T.V. imo is pointless at this moment.

Technology will update for ever.If you dont like 4k and ur not able to buy one disregard this. Those who like the tech and have capacity they will buy 4k tvs.

"Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder".

In this context, its certainly quality over technology. I admit that plasma is stone age tech compared 4k. But still true audiophiles listen to LPs instead compressed mp3 (mp3 is newer technology). I believe it's quality that drives them backwards.

Moreover, when we consider price-performance comparison, 4k is not the winner again.

Anyway, years of wonders are yet to come. 4k will definitely improve I'm sure. As soon as 4k price decreases, more 3d viewers will also jump to that category to enjoy their rack full of 3d blu rays played in full HD passive 3d.

No offence mate!

It's not what one 'can' buy, that's the root problem of our foolish decisions thinking like that, it's whether you 'should' buy or not. I can buy a F430 (not implied as a joke), but I won't because where I live it will be done within an hour or two. That doesn't mean the car is overpriced, same goes for the 4K televisions, they might not be overpriced (I am not sure about this though!) but I am unable to find a point to buy it.

@Saikat no offence taken mate.I also won't buy 4k tv now.Simply i'm not affordable to buy one.I also know, there is no stock movies or discs on 4k resoultion .But what im saying every new tech will be like that only. When led introduces it was 32 inch led tv more than 70k.Now see whatz the price of 32 inch ledtv.Price will drop ,everyone jump into buying decs of 4k tvs after few years. But leaders wont follow the footsteps .They will march ahead.that's what i'm trying to say.

Those people are buying new technologies are not fools, common grow up.I'm sure all you people will be queuing up for 4k tvs in the future.

You questioned and answered in your own post. Yes, I will buy a 4K TV in future, because that time I will have some 4K contents to play on it, also the price will be civilized, but that's in future, not now. When LCD/LED televisions were first released the prices were sky high, you are right, I bought my 'tiny' 26" Bravia for 55K, back in 2007, but I didn't care because that time I had loads of 720p contents to play on it, hell I even had some 1080p contents too. So buying that TV was justified because it was used how it supposed to be used. Now if I buy a 4K TV now I don't have anything to play on it, so I still don't know why would one buy that. New technology? Alright, that new technology needs support from another new technology, i.e the source for 4K videos.
I am sorry but no sane person will buy a helicopter when there's no pad to land it. If someone has some 4K contents then go buy and burn your money, typing the above message didn't credit any money in my bank account, but I am sure it credits to some fact.

Khosla(Beckbagan) :58,500 after bargaining the price came down to 55,000....that's the minimum he can offer....pretty reasonable imo.

Anandamela(Gariahat) : 54,000 after bargaining 53,000...I didn't go to this shop personally, one of my friend inquired today.

I always liked Khosla for their prices. No idea about that Anandamela though.
