Even my choice of buying electronics was from these small dealers who dont waste their money on big floor space to display their products and then bill it in our products we buy. These small dealers get the same margins like other large showroom dealers from all electronic manufacturers. You can negotiate with these small dealers unlike large showroom guys.
On Diwali weekend, as I personally knew one of the traders in Velachery, Chennai, I was offered Samsung Blu-ray player for 4.5K (the starting model) which I would not have got in any showroom! Point to note is that the dealer could be in dire need keep his stocks moving to keep his cash liquidity problem away! Also, in 2010, I bought Sony 40" LCD TV for 52k when the best rate with other dealers, including Sony Centre, was 55K. Currently, Im looking for 55 LED TV, when I checked with this small dealer he said will give for 3-4K less than whats being offered by other dealers. I would suggest buyers to take a demo, price, offers, and other misc costs like transport, & installation, for the products you need to buy from these large dealers and then walk into any small dealers and bargain & buy. You will end saving 5% of the total product costs which you use it to celebrate with your family by taking them out for a dinner!

Yes, you are right, post Diwali the prices have gone up and no discounts are being offered .Till the end of last month Samsung had the Diwali offer running so you would get a bluray player free with the 51f500 but price was 76k , during Diwali had a friend buy the same for 67k with the free player.

2014 models will come this week . May be but not sure price will drop? When is next festive season.

Panasonic TV's are back in stock with an extended warranty of 1 year on selected models. I shall be finalizing tomorrow morning on purchase of a 32"TV, got a final price quote of 35,600/- for the Panasonic 32E6D is it a good price or is there any scope of further negotiation??? Also got a quote for LGLN571 for 32,500/- which seems to be a good price. Which TV is better in comparision.

The sales man said that I need to contact Panasonic directly for the extended warranty. Is it true???

I have checked the PANNA LED TV at a authorized dealer in Mulund "Atul Electronics" in Mulund, did not focus on the Plasma Models during my visit.

LG 55in 4K UHD television has been introduced in kerala market. I had gone for a demo yesterday. The price after discount comes to around inr 292000/-.The salesperson connected a USB drive and played some film clips. I wasn't impressed with what I saw. Blacks were greyish and there were some artifacts on the screen. But when they demoed the 4k clippings it was great. Now I am having second thoughts about my plans for the purchase of this television at this price.
Regards
Dilip

My 2 cents, better to go for Samsung 64F8500, it gives a bang for the Buck and the PQ is excellent also would cost you 1 lakh less than your 4k tv and is more than 20% bigger in screen size.
