Problem in Tata Sky Set top box...

Hi,

i just came to know from my mom that the TS set top box giving problems...

After working for say 5 - 10 mins its shows big red light (same place when switched off light is shown) and the it gets off !!

I am away from home and need your help .. plz...

new software being downloaded

do not switch off...


is everything okay ??

this has happened a couple o times in my airtel hd box as well. its actually downloading a new software and you are not supposed to fiddle with it (and the remote) till the downloading and installing is over.

it will automatically start after the installing is done. leave the STB on for at least 45 mins. if it does not start on its own even after, say an hour, the best solution - call customer care..!

Wait for the software upgrade to complete. If problem still persists after the upgradation then you need to repair it.

If it gets stuck at 0% or anywhere else, switch off the box, remove all cables, power cable, HDMI cable, and the cables coming in from the dish. Wait for a few minutes and plug in again with the cables. It will restart the download.

It worked for me yesterday.

It seems I got new problem. Irrespective of whatever we were watching, after going to standby and again ON, it moves to channel no. 100 always. I am not sure whats happening.

I have come across the similar problem with my Tata Sky set up box which I have been using for past few months. However, it is not often it creates a nuisance. But one thing which I am really unhappy about is its remote control as you have to press too hard to check the guide and surf channels.

My TS stb has this bug since a long time. Originally, when I bought it, it used to stay on the previous channel but later (after some stupd sw upgrade), it started behaving in the same manner as above.
