had the philips shp2700 for about a year. they are quite decent but crackle at slightly higher volume and the plastic creaks if you move your head or even clench your throat
was thinking of trying something in the lower range first but finally decided to jump directly into the middle of things.
picked up AD-700 from pristine note
first impression (music only) is that it is quite good. it looks as if i can hear everything there is to hear, very clearly.
bass sounds like the vintage 60s/70s realistic wooden version - which is perfectly the way i like it as most of the music i listen is from that era. the tabla on "kun faya kun" sounds brilliant, so this hp will be great for all you tablaheads.
fit is very light and non-clamping - absolutely no pressure on the head
drives quite easily -from phone, mp3 player or laptop
sound leaks from these open cans a lot more than all my previous hps
running through some of my favorite songs right now
