Though I do not collect 78 RPM as a collector, I do have plenty of such 78s in my huge collection. Are they really rare?. I remember seeing Dean Martin's 78 and Connie Francis 78 in my collection

My new addition

A AKAI 1721W 4 track Spool player [looks brand new] in a wooden box with built in stereo speakers. It was kept in the original box with the earlier owner, not used since he got it years back.

I had to only clean to remove the slight ferrous deposit on the playback head. Rest of the mechanism works so fine even though it was not operated for years.
It has two VU meters, one for each channel.
Phono Line and Line out

Amazing ! From where you are getting these beauties ?

Regards,

Suresh

KJY looks young and handsome, never seen him like this before. Thanks for sharing the LP cover

The background setting in the cover pic looks great, 1970s Kochi?

I have heard this album when I was in school, a family friend lent it to my dad. I distinctly remember the picture of KJY. He looked very different from how we were used to seeing him.

Reuben,
Yes, he was photogenic and very modern then.
Not only in looks. His Tharanagini studio was the first one to have a STEREO recording facility in South India. PRIYA (Tamil film, music by Illayaraja) was the first film to use his studio for STEREO recording, with of course most of the songs rendered by him.

The photo in his first Stereo LP also looks good with a Calcutta backdrop.

Also, have a look at the Photo in the LP titled "Intimate moments with Yesudas" Hindi Film songs. You will like.

Regards,
Anil

Suresh,

Just luck. Nothings else. Some good contacts and friends help me to find them....
I think I have already pushed my family to the corner to tolerate my use of most of the moving space@ home........ so...., use these beauties for some time. Fill the heart... then hand over it to a deserving person who can look after it .

Regards,
Anil
