Remote for Oppo DV980H

Hi,

My Oppo remote for the 980H is not working. And therefore cannot unlock region code (usually I need to do it 2-3 times a year!).

Am looking for anyone to help me - either lend a remote for an hour (Chennai folks), or suggest an universal remote that can be programmed to do the same as the original remote, or any other method.

Hi,
I had the same problem with my 980 remote.
With good batteries, point it at your phone camera and see if it flashes. You can see it operate with the phones camera. Mine would flash once bright and then dim.
My LED was bad and I robbed one from an old remote.
That fixed it.
If you do replace the LED, watch the polarity of the LED as you install it.
You can see the anode and cathode through the clear lens for confirmation.

Wont work for the op model.

Try Sony VLZ-620.
Its an universal learning remote and should work out of the box after punching in the Oppo's code.

Write to oppo and they will ship a new one to you. Of Course you will have to pay them for it. I have a 983H and my remote had packed up due to non usage and the batteries leaked. I wrote to them and in two days I had a spare original remote.
