We all know Censoring in INDIA is ruining us from watching almost all Hollywood titles.

But nowadays we are seeing More & More Hollywood Blu-ray titles releasing on the same day of international release. But before buying ANY Indian blu-rays we MUST HAVE TO KNOW Indian version is UNCUT or NOT, because Blu-Rays are STILL expensive in India.

I don't think there are other thread like this... So I'm requesting the MOD to make this thread Sticky. This will be the official thread where we can REPORT which Indian version of Hollywood Blu-ray is CENSORED & which is UNCUT.

Report the titles like these Format : -

NAME OF MOVIE (Year)/ Name of Publisher / Running Time / UNCUT or Censored

Starting from me I can report that :-

1) EVIL DEAD (1981) / Sony DADC India / 85Mins / UNCUT.

Please contribute to this thread... So that we can be 100% Sure before buying ANY Indian Blu-rays!

How bad? Can you share a screen shot?
By the way, just booked A Nightmare On Elm Street - 1984 Hope it will okay..

1.0 out of 5 stars Hash job from Eagle Home Entertainment 9 August 2013

Amazon Verified Purchase

"I had purchased the Region 1 DVD of this movie a couple of years back.
I liked it immensely. So I thought of upgrading to Bluray. I am doing this with many movies that I have really liked and that bear repeated viewing.
Most of my bluray purchases are from 2 very well known Indian online portals and from amazon.co.uk or amazon.com.
While I was wary of Eagle Home Entertainment as a manufacturer of Bluray discs, in all fairness their releases of "The Hurt Locker",
(Imported and Distributed) and "Zero Dark Thirty" (Manufactured by Sony DADC) left no room for complaint.
Thus I ordered this disc.
But "The Reader" was a shocker. Manufactured by MoserBaer it has been mastered from a scratched old print from the producers Indian warehouse no doubt and that too on a defective projection equipment.
The audio track is just about passable but the video makes you fly into a murderous rage!
That a bluray can look and sound so lousy is just about unbelievable.
I would give the movie 5 stars any day but for this cruel joke on the hapless Indian customer only a single star."

Be aware when buying ANYTHING from Eagle Home ENTERTAINMENT.

Here is another old Thread of the Same Title problem described in HFV forum

I can confirm that SONY DADC / Excel Titles are GOOD. Don't know about Reliance.

if it is "the reader" released by eagle, it has been cut. i have seem the movie, and the eagle execution is like those pirated DVDs (camera prints). In fact I had reviewed it on this forum

generally speaking, avoid all Eagle releases

I am looking for a copy of the Hindi movie "Anand", ( Rajesh Khanna/Amitabh) which is available on an Eagle Home Video print:
Since FM Kapvin has mentioned that all Eagle releases are of doubtful quality, and as the above recent posts confirm that observation, can anyone here point me to a source for a good copy( Original) of the movie ? Tahnk you.

Cut? I wouldn't use the word "cut", butchered is more like it. Got a US copy of The Reader from the bay and what a difference when compared and contrasted with that Eagle POS! The only thing left of my copy of the Eagle release is it's cover, minus the artwork.

Are you sure about Veer-Zara Blu-Ray quality, I have seen its blu-ray and that was awesome.

Yes 200% sure, I picked it up recently and checked it and was horrified to find the picture quality.

The brightness overtly enhanced ! I had to reduce brightness from 0 to -30 on my panny plasma to make it suitable to bear, the whole picture looks bleak and dull even after all the fiddling !

So far worst YRF Bluray I've come across,I have others from them and they are way way better !

I agree about its brightness, I am not sure same was in theaters. But after image adjustments, it was okay for me.

Couldn't decide where to put it..but putting it here-

Ordered 'As Good As It Gets' DVD from Snapdeal during their 50% off offer. After a lot of days, dont remember how many, it reached me today.

The case is good sturdy but looks kind of cheap like pirated. cover art print quality is average. overall, one can doubt whether you are holding an original box or .....!

Picture quality is Ok, good. But sound is too low for me. for he first time I have to increase the volume by 30% more to hear dialogue satisfactorily. 5.1 Dolby multichannel sound is not convincing. Most of the time it is only the center channel that is active, not even front left/right. Subtitle doesn't match dialogues.

The DVD is by Sony DADC, released in India.

I actually placed an order for more than 12 DVDs but then I cancelled and ordered to only one to check. Guess i am saved. From now i will order only indian movies from india. other will be ordered be through amazon usa.

If it is an Indian version, it is automatically region C compatible. I think the cover is a mistake or may be copied from UK version, which is confirmed region A & B locked.

You can see the CBFC ratings there, but also A & B in the Hexagon... its so confusing...

I didn't have another player, so I can't check region C playback... & I didn't want to switch my ONLY Region B player to useless Region C. :ohyeah:
