Right now I am listening to ...

Heard this album recently in its entirety
Must have heard the individual tracks plenty of times growing up but never paid attention to this band seriously.

Just heard the track "Ranjha" from the upcoming bollywood movie "Queen".
The voice in the track is amazing(to my ears), its done by singer called Rupesh Kumar Ram.

Cant seem to find any more songs by him. If anyone knows please point out.

Edit: He is a composer and has sung for the first time.
Anyways posting a link to it,

John Hiatt - Anthology... super album, filled with excellent tracks, vocals, and guitar work. Have a Little Faith in Me is still the best... no matter how many other artists have done cover versions.

Do yourself a favor and get this album... or at the very least check him out. Not as famous as Eric Clapton or Mark Knopfler, but he is right up there with the best of them as a singer, songwriter and musician.

This was the album that introduced me to the blues genre as a kid and from there I've discovered other greats like Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Stevie Ray Vaughan (my absolute favorite and the greatest guitarist ever IMHO), Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, John Mayall and the ledgendary B.B. King.

That said Gary Moore still rocks... this album is loaded with excellent music, songs and great guitar riffs... an absolute delight.

Didn't remember this thread existed until recently. Hope my poor taste is tolerated and I am not booted out after this one post :p

Some of past year's 'songs in my head'

  1. Gorguts - Battle of Chamdo (Colored Sands, 2013)
  2. Haken - Cockroach King (Mountain, 2013)
  3. The Fall of Every Season - Sole Passenger (Amends, 2013)
  4. Altar of Plagues - Mills (Teethed Glory and Injury, 2013)

.. and some albums I am currently trying out
