should i buy Toshiba 40" LCD for 31,000 from Vijay sales

i will going for a plasma
i hv 2 options

samsung ps43d450 (samsung official gallery price - 45000 and croma price - 40000)

LG 42pt560R (LG official gallery price - 43000 and croma price - 38000 and Kohinoor price - 39000)

I dont want a 3D tv, and i can buy only by the means of EMI
firstly pls help me choose between these two plasma....

Go for PS43D490 even if you don't need 3D. In active shutter technology, which plasmas use, there is not much additional technology on TV. But it has many improvements over D450 which makes the extra few thousands worth the money.

the croma guy says that the LG volume is 6 times more than the samsung plasma. he gave me the demo too.

ARE YOU BUYING A TV OR A RADIO ?

but ppl say that samsung is always the best
other thing is... that i m scared if i will end up buying a display/demo piece.. the croma guy was really pushing for buying the LG plasma.

Never buy a demo piece plasma unless you know what you are doing and have thoroughly checked the piece and the price is that much attractive. Because the first 100 or so hours is very important for a plasma.

If the financing scheme is not of your satisfaction, try another dealer or some financing company.
Also check the samsung service in your area. Although samsung TVs are better there are many complaints about samsung service. While LG products may be less recommended, it is often reported that LG service is very good. Service also is an important factor.

Another point is that panasonic offers 3 year warranty on panel, while LG and samsung gives only one year warranty.

i m getting the Samsung D450 for 38000 at a nearby local retailer, while the croma price and samsung gallery price is 40000 and 45000 respectively ..

so is the deal worthy...coz the warranty and sales service are provodd by the manufacturer so the retailer.. as long as he gives me a factory sealed piece... should nt matter????

He gave me a volume demo of the two pieces LG pt560R and samsung D450 by just letting me hear both tvs' volume one by one.
the samsung maximum value was not even half the volume of LG plasma... but that's not really a concern for me... i just shared it hear just to show that how much the croma guy was pushing for buying the LG one... he would recommend again n again to go for the LG one stating that it was the best in that range.

on the warranty part...every company is offering extended warranty for som extra money... but is it just for panels or the entire piece... i m not sure..

so is Panasonic's warranty better than these.

nw i m confused beteen panasonic x30 plasma (as i read it on aother thread where everybody was favouring panasonic x30 over samsung D450)

or is Samsung D490 a better deal if i can get it for around 40000-41000 at the local retailer's shop??:o

guys...IMO there is no noticeable difference in PQ of LCD tv's of any brand what matters is the screen size...i bought llyod 42" full HD at 36500/- and, am pretty happy with its performance....lets never forget the ground rule which applies universally...garbage in, garbage out....be it sony, samsung, videocon, or any other, hook it up to blue ray or Tata Sky HD, every1 will say vow...now connect the same tv with DD News and the same TV will look less than ordinary....So, my advice to u is to go for bigger screen rather than getting trapped in to marketing jargons e.g. xcolor, viera engine....all bullshit....

Interesting post... though many will disagree.. incl me..

Anyway all the best to your purchase.. never thought that Lloyd TV will be recommended just because it is cheap, looks like only criterion used for selection is size only.....

BTW wondering then why not the cheapest TV that your money can buy (using the same logic )?.. in this case choosing a TV will be purely mathematics .. :indifferent14:
