I have many songs like this (old records and tapes). But can never discard them as they are songs with kind of poetry, lyrics and musical composition that will never been seen/heard again. Yes, what HMV/Saregama did was criminal.
There should be a campaign to restore these kind of songs in digital format for people who don't own analog formats.
My pet theory is that with AI getting better and better, someone will use AI to take a bad recording, predict the waveforms and apply corrections. I'm sure this will happen some day.
Result would not be nice i suppose. There are lots of modern songs on YouTube sung by AI Kishore kumar, Mohd rafi, Lata. And audiophiles despise even tone equalizers, they would never accept AI recreated songs.
Ugh. I have heard some of those horrible songs. I used to think they have been sung by someone else.

The room with the foam and the lighting looks really nice. I need to do something similar on my next vacations. Nothing effects the ambience of a space like lighting doesThanks

i feel the best mike avaialbe in studio was for the vocalist, therefore vocals are always good. if someone could do a Van Gelder or a Chesky to the backing tracks
The final piece of the puzzle is now sorted! The HT system is kinda complete. My plan was to move on to a powered LCR - preferably Genelecs but they were just not "looking right" in the drawing room! So had to let go of the idea. Settled for the KEF LS50 Metas for the front 3, added an O&B amplifier, a REL 1003MKII sub - which is now wirelessly connected with the REL wireless kit! Currently all is groovy gravy, may add another REL at some point - purely for fun.

Just adding a note here - about O&B. I can be a difficult customer in terms of requirements - part of it comes from making my life simple, part of it comes from ignorance, part of it comes from aesthetic preferences. So I gave a fairly tall order to @adas. Highly customised chassis & functionality, specific cables & ports, etc etc... The list is endless. Aniket, was patient as we all have heard many a times & he was incredibly helpful.
His pains didn't end at just delivering the amp, that was just the beginning, setup involved a bunch of back and forth calls, I have setup many amps in my life, but when you have support at your beck & call, you tend to act spoilt, every little question, instead of google was directed at Aniket. & Yet again - he delivered!
I am not making tall claims here that the amp has made the sound ethereal & has changed my life, none of that, this is not an amp review. Just that there is a guy out there, from this very community, making products & delivering service, that we wish for in products costing many times more.
Kudos to O&B & @adas !!!
