Dear All,
Yesterday i visited reliance digital for demo of Yamaha YHT-299, YHT 2910 and found that subwoofer is not throwing the bass as exactly what i want and suddenly the person there said that try Sony Muketi HT-M55 and OMG the bass from the system in normal music MP3 was mind blowing the stands there were shaking with the bass produced from the subs of muketi and after that he played Dark Knight Rises for dolby effects and after that my expressions was like  sony can also produce that type of clarity from his system.
Tomorrow I will bring my HDD which is having more Music Videos with real Dolby Digital Audio (Hindi, Punjabi & English), Some more MP3 will try on the system.

But one question, Can I go for the system or not as my preference will 75% Music & 25% Movies if not then Mr. sachinv_81 had advised a system for me (Pioneer VSX 524 & Yamaha NS8390 tower speakers) after looking into my budget, so can I go for the same (Sony) or should I stick to Mr. Sachin's decision.

Sorry Mr. Sachin but I am very very confused after listening to the Sony, please don't take it personally as my intention not to dishonour your advise but just wanna get out from this confusion:sad:.

Regards
Shyam

Hi

Everyone is different and hence has a different EAR towards system expectations...some like more bass, some want blending bass and so on...that's the reason we say although we recommend certain systems, it is best you audition with your kind of music and decide what appeals to you in appearance, performance, connectivity N features and of course budget...

All the best....

First thing, people on this forum will try to help you by clearing your doubts, sharing their experience etc but by no means will expect you to go by their opinion alone. You should absorb all this and then finally take an informed decision based on how the system works for YOUR NEEDS and YOUR EARS.
Coming to Sony Muteki, i have heard the system quite a bit. I have also heard the more hifi systems. I can understand why you were blown away by the Muteki. It has phenomenal mid bass, it is loud and fast. But i felt it was not accurate enough for movies (did not listen to much music on it). The mid bass was there but the bone crushing lower bass was missing. While auditioning a system for movies, i don't go by what THEY play, i take my own material. Ex: i take the MI-Ghost Protocol blu ray and play the sand storm scene. I play the rain scenes (ex: Road to Perdition) to test surrounds. I play conversation scenes to see how the center channel renders it. I play vocals and strings to see if they are life like. So there is much more to a system than just pumping mid bass.
But that said, you should evaluate any system based on what your listening preferenes are. If you listen to a lot of punjabi, hip hop etc then the Sony M5 would keep you much more happier than my system. My Klipsch sub would not be able to keep with the fast beats in that genre, but give it some serious movie LFE and it'd beat the M5 to dust. So please factor all this, consider what you listen, audition many systems and then make your decision based on what YOUR heart tells you. Good luck
