anyone experienced boston acoustics soundware xs 5.1 ?? is it powerful than onkyo ?
"Power" should not be the sole crieterion. Check for:anyone experienced boston acoustics soundware xs 5.1 ?? is it powerful than onkyo ?
I have listened to BA soundware and own HT-S3400. Did not do A-B comparison. But any AVR combo with BA is going to cost more than Onkyo HT-S3400 and there is no notable difference in performance for the increased cost in AVR+BA combo. Only notable difference was the bass from subwoofer. However with right room acoustics and proper subwoofer placement, Onkyo(though passive) will be able to give similar performance. Go for AVR+BA combo, only if you have plans to dump BA in future for better speaker package or if you dont mind the extra cost but need a good looking tiny satellite speakers.
In that case, do not buy Onkyo. Buy an entry level HTiB like Philips or something that you will not regret to junk away.am in india for a holiday. i ll go back to UK again in 3 months. i want a HTIB for my parents. i have plans to change everything after 2 years from now. so for 2 years onkyo ll be more than enough. ?

If the setup is for parents and if they will not be using multiple components, settle for a Sony/Philips HTiB (with blu-ray/dvd and bluray is not essential). Look for something less than Rs.20000 like
Buy Sony Home Theatre BDV-E290, Best Home Theatre Systems Price India - Infibeam.com (Blu-ray and Media play through USB)
Sony DAV-DZ340 5.1 Home Theatre System | Home Theatre | Flipkart.com (DVD and Media play through USB)
Buy Pioneer HTZ 373DVD Home Theatre System, Best Home Theatre Systems Price India - Infibeam.com (DVD and USB)

In the same boat. Is there any online store from where we can order the Onkyo 3500 or the 3400? There aren't available in my city and need to purchased elsewhere.
ok i ll buy a entry level sony HT & invest the the saved money in panasonic 50" UT50 model plasma.
Excellent thought. No point spending a lot for something you might junk later. Hmmm. Always state clear requirements, priorities, (however cruel) intentions, up front.
