So a better comparison for 2D PQ (Assuming majority use) would be with the W700a.

Well for me, the main comparison that is going to be is between the W700A and W950A.
Will need to see if the difference in PQ is enough to justify the premium.

That's a huge jump buddy. W700 vs. W950. You need to do some serious demo. Really.
Get your priorities right. If you'll watch tons of bluray material then I can somewhat understand (even then I did give it a second thought). W950 need to be set in right environment and you'll need to spend good amount of time calibrating it (not adjustments but calibration).
Well my main uses are going to be watching tons of bluray material and playing PS3 Games.
So what are you suggesting here?

I never got a chance to test the "Live Color" feature. How does it work on the W700A?
I Read in the reviews that there was no need to use this feature on the W900due to the Triluminous Technology.
Also does the 200 Hz motion flow in the W700A suffice?
As all the reviews seem to suggest to turn this setting off in the high end models like W900A,F7000,F8000.
Does the 24p mode make a difference? Is it required or can be ignored?
The live color benefit can only be seen in Sony blu ray players and PS3/4.Not only that you will need content which supports that wide color gamut.Sony has started to launch blu ray movies with that extended color gamut.
The live color gamut in the W9xx is more then any other display on the market excluding the Sony 4k 55" and 65" tvs.
Unlike the W800 ,HX750 which have motion flow settings the W700 unfortunately doesn't have the abilty to control any settings in motionflow.
I know that the W700 Does not have the ability to change the Motionflow settings. So does the 200Hz motion flow suffice? Also do we need the ability to change the motion flow as most reviews suggest turning this off.

For blurays you'll switch it off anyway. However the native panel response will be very important... 60, 120, 240 Hz. Most of the displays can do 24p well. Try it for yourself with some demo.
At most you may use all the fancy processing on lowest setting.
If you are a movie buff then you deserve the W950

You said the W950 requires a lot of calibration.
Well i am a noob in this case and have no idea how to do it.
Is there a guide available that is easy to follow and helps in achieving the best PQ possible with the set?

It does have plenty of options and it is easy to get lost with Sony's stupid menu layout. There are few link that can get you started. Most FMs here should know of those. I'll post the links later.
Ok cool. How would the set up of the W700 be compared to the W950A?
Will it also require calibration or just tweaks with the settings to the out of box settings do the job?

Don't worry. Get what you like and budget permits. You can set it up the way you like and pay with the settings. Don't spend so much time thinking about settings. You like W950 go get it.

After i have made my purchase, will get back here for the optimal settings for the set
Sony lcd tvs don't have much advanced controls like CMS or the 10 point WB. The high end Sony tvs usually have settings close to calibrated levels when you click the cinema mode.In the HDTVshootout the Sony X900 4k television which also has the TriLuminos colors had no significant difference in Sony factory settings vs custom calibrated settings, its that good.
Typical in Sony tvs switch off all the unwanted processing like black corrector,white enhancer,ACE,mpeg noise reduction etc
Change color temperature to warm 1 or warm 2.
Having read a few reviews on the net, i hardly read about the reviewer mentioning about calibration on a sony set.
It was mainly with the samsung sets, that i read a lot about it requiring calibrations.

Not because it's that good but for the fact that Sony doesn't offer those controls. Displays from reputed manufactures usually have good to excellent colors and greyscale. Even LG stays true to colors.
Where the displays differ or suffer are contrast, black levels, motion and viewing angles.
Who will be first lucky to get W950?
Well i visited the stores again this sunday, Unfortunately no W900 or W950 on display.
But the salesperson told me that they had it in stock, it is just not displayed (I doubt that would be true as to why one would not display the flagship set when one has it in stock?). He was just full of praise for the colors and display on the set though.
I got a chance to compare the W800 and W700 again and i feel overall the W800 was better. The picture was quite laggy on the W700. The same scene was smooth on the W800. The 3D was also very good.
The salesperson also compared the W800 to the Samsung F8000 and he was convinced that the W800 had better PQ
To be honest, what i saw at the store, they were pretty close. Could not tweak the settings though, Which i am sure, if done, The samsung F8000 would win hands down
Now the only thing left to do is audition the W950/W900 whenever it hits the shelves and make the decision.
