Speaker & Crossover Settings

I am.having ascendo sv12 sub. With klipsch reference speakers. Land R are 620f floor standers. Avr is Marantz 50. Shall I put Low pass filter at 80Hz for subwoofer. Need advice
The Klipsch is a 6.5 incher and the Ascendo 12 incher seems like a powerful sub. I would set it at 80 Hz and let the subwoofer do the heavy lifting for bass duties. As always, you can experiment and see what you like best.

1. Connect the subwoofer out from your AVR to the left Line In of your power amp.
2. Set all the crossover frequencies of all speakers to 80 Hz on the AVR (or 60 Hz, or the one that sounds good for you. I wouldn’t go lower unless I have powerful speakers with good LF extension).
3. On the power amp, turn the low frequency filter knob all the way up to the maximum (with this you are turning off the bass management on your power amp and letting the AVR do it instead.)
thanks a lot friend.

Setting the AVR to 4 Ohm and turning the Echo mode on will rob the AVR of power. Please go through the following video.

If one is running 4 Ohm speakers on a entry or mid level receiver, it is better to set a higher crossover so that the bulk of the load of the lower frequencies are handled by the subwoofer.

If the AVR is heating up, one could try the fans linked below.

Thanks for sharing video.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
