Stabilizer and UPS

Hi Guys,

Need your advice.

Recently built dedicated home theatre with ARCAM AV-41 Emotima XPA 11 and Basx 5. brought Aulten 5 KVA Stabilizer within a month, Stabilizer blew off due to high voltage. luckily none of the AV equipment was damaged. when contacting their support not ready to replace or repair. I am looking for a 5 KVA stabiliser and 5 KVA online pure sine wave UPS. need your recommendation brand. I would prefer to buy locally if available.

Since you are based in Dubai, if I am not mistaken there the voltage is very stable. Assuming you need one in India.
You may need to decide whether you need a servo or a static stabilizer. Static stabilizers are silent, with faster voltage correction and much more expensive. Servo stabs will beep while correcting voltage and will remain silent when there are no fluctuations. Servo stabs may need servicing after many years since they have moving parts.
Static stabs have no moving parts hence easier to maintain.
Pls do look out for their service in your region.

In India for the Static category, you have brands like vertex and NKB Technocrats. I am sure there are other brands which other fm's may be using & can guide you better.

Regarding ups, I am familiar with APC but you may need to check on the specific one required for your purpose.

Most welcome Sunil. I have earlier used a 3 Kva servo Krykard and it was good barring the noise only during voltage correction. The intermittent noise is bearable and not a deal breaker. Plus Krykard has a good pan India service network.
Pls note that you may need to attach an extension board with many sockets to the Krykard stab since it had only 1 output.
From that point of view Vertex has 4 sockets behind. Pls do check the thread on these which has the pics of the rear side.
The main wall socket for the stabilizer has to be 16 amps.
