Suggest me good speakers than Bose 201 series V

there is nothin like auditioning things personally and buyin...no matter what....i think you are wasting yours/everyones time here!....when your mind is fixed on something...(apologies if i sounded rude) but find no point in you returning back to square one even after people giving you so many suggestions...not many use bose here so best thing is to buy the speaker and then go audition hoppin to all the places suggested by elango!...thats what i did to when i started!funny carrying arou d an marantz amp for speaker hunting but at the end whatever i bought made/kept me happy for almost more than a year until the upgrade bug bugged me!...........

at 13k, go for bose! nothing better imho at that price point!

I second this. At this price point, it is very difficult to find something (new )which will sound much better unless you can find some old stock of the old diamond 8.2 from wharfedale.

If you can extend this to around 16k, you will find many speakers which will sound far superior to the 201. They will also be much better value in the long run. Quality, build, longevity.

Cambridge audio S30 or Tannoy Mercury V1 or Q accoustics. Price plz and any online retails who offer best price because in chennai they are quoting double the price for any speaker be it Decibels, Cinebels or others.

I'm glad you are at least thinking of other names, that is a good start. I hope you do find something that suits your budget. Please go and listen to the speakers. All the best!!!

I think this is a incorrect statement. You should say 'the prices of the products these people are quoting are double my budget'.

No dealer will quote 'double' price if he wants to stay in business.

If you can get any of the products I have quoted to you legally at 'half' the price, I will but two pairs with my own money, and gift a pair to you free. And this is not a non-serious offer.

Cheers

I am very much confused that's why approached this forum. I made my mind fixed on Marantz NR1402 or Denon 1513 which is available in hifimart and htstore but what am not able to decide is two front speakers for stereo setup.

Since from my early days i know only Bose, i auditioned Bose 201 series V speakers and to my ears they are ok but i agree with you guys, the build quality is not good and it feels cheap.

I then decided to go with brands like Klipsch, B&W, Q accoustics and Cambridge audio. Since i didn't had an audition and i fear that most of the guys here in Chennai are quoting me the price much higher than what you are telling.

For Klipsch Book shelf B2, they are quoting 30 thousand in Decibels and people here are telling that they will cost me below 20k, that's why i dropped Bose.

I am finalizing my speaker equipment and if i audition these in an showroom, they want me to buy there or else they will definitely look rude against me. So, i looking for your suggestion for below speaker systems.

@ Klipsch Bookshelf B20
@ Cambridge Audio S30
@ B&W if any are below 20k
@ Q accoustics for 15k +/-

Help me with the dealers and if he is not in chennai or bangalore then can he ship to my place (Tirupathi).

Sorry decibel but when I called Chennai decibel they told me they are selling marantz nr1402 to 350000 and klipsch b20 as 20+ inr. But hifimart is selling avr for 25500. Am not particularly pointing any one but asking here the price

For 13K , you may look at Norge Millenium BS as another member suggested.

Other speakers comes in that price range and have good opinions are CA S30 & Q Accoustic 2010. Though I have not listened to the particular Bose model, the Norge setup I have, found to be slightly better sounding than one of their 2.1 setup, which I remember was priced at 60K approx. I use a DVDP as source. I had a quick listen at their showroom in Hyd Inorbit Mall.

For price you can check in hifimart and technoguru.in etc . If you are happy with the sound of Bose speakers, stick to that if they are for front speakers in multichannel setup.

My friend, you are getting completely confused. Decibel does not deal with Klipsch at all.

If you are convinced about NT1402, you SHOULD buy it from HiFiMart.

Cheers

@ OP: You need not be afraid that the delaer would ask you to buy it immediately. Some dealers are rude and they remian rude whether you buy or no. Others are very co-operative regardless of your decision about purchase. Most dealers in high end audio are used to the fact that may be not more than 10% who have audition will actaully buy the product. In fact that is why the prices and margins are so high in high end audio. Secondly, many people compare prices in dollars on sites like amazon to prices at dealers. They do not factor in the transport and customs which is not without risk. Plus you need to factor in the better after sales support if you buy locally. I hope you are not doing such a comparisons. Hifimart is a reliable on line store (going by the feedbacks on forum) and good site for comparisons but do not compare to $$ prices on amazon etc. In the end, you will need to bargain with the delaer. I have regularly seen discount of 10-15% on quoted price. Depends on your skill.

+1 to Decibel.............hifimart would indeed be the best place to pick up Marantz 1402, unless you find a better price.

Time to share experience about dealer. My brother had bought Mission M35i & NAD C326 BEE amplifier more than a year back. Myself nor my brother didn't have any idea about Hi-fi. All we had at that time was Onkyo HTIB.

I met Raghu there in decibel & told my requirements, he gave us a demo with NAD amp + CD Combo + PSB B6. He was kind enough to educate me the difference between receiver & amplifier, sound signature between British & American speakers & few more. Infact his explanation provoked me to learn more about hi-fi audio.

Finally we bought Mission M35i after a few months of audition & after 6 months , we bough NAD C326.

" Raghu never urged me to buy the setup after audition".

It simply means that I am yet to see a person who did not like a speaker but still bought it. When you asked if he liked m35i, the answer was obviously going to be yes. Why would he buy a speaker ccosting aorund 30k even if he does not like it. Even I love the Mission sound.
