I am really enjoying exposure and Dali combination. If you prefer neutral detailed sound with lean tight bass, then Dali ikon 6 would be great.

Thanks to all for the suggestions .

Here is my experience with Exposure 2010S2.

BTW , i am yet to receive the new Amp, was told it is out of stock and Abhishek provided one from the Demo .

I paired this with the basic Philips DVD player and Desktop PC . To my disappointment in both the cases , it sounded bad and dry . The speakers are Jamo E series floor standers which i was using it with Denon AVR , Denon Int Amp and also used it with marantz for short time , out of these Denon AVR used to sound the best ( may be because of the internal DAC in that ) and i was expecting to have altease 10% improvement over these Amp . but it was 30% downtrend in the over all quality compared to these . :(

Then i used a C-Media USB adaptor ( Not sure if it is right to call as Dac ) which was provided along with the IBM think pad to use with the headphone and mic . Think pad does not have mic input !!. With this C-Media , I see a good improvement , especially in the bass , even in head phone also it is bass heavy . Now with the c-media , it is little better compared to my Denon AVR + Jamo combi

I think , i need to first upgrade the source with the quality DAC , My desktop has got a Digial optical output and hence the USB option is not mandatory . I heard bushmaster DACs are good ( looks like most of the reviews posted by beresford itself :) . But still i assume it is worth for the money . Any idea on this ? Any one has got this DAC . Please share

If I get a decent improvement with the DAC , i can delay the Speaker upgrade .

I feel the Amp is transparent and neutral and due to this i could see the obvious flaws in the source which were not revealed with the Marantz and Denon Int Amp . So 'Exposure' is Exposing !

Missed to add one thing .

I clearly see the difference in SW players also !! . Used XMBC , Windows media player , Jet Audio and MPC-HC . So long i was thinking the player just read the file , decode and sends streaming bits to DAC and hence should not theoretically sound different . But looks like it is not .

Jet Audio seems to roll-off Mid and high and Windows Media Player seems to colorize in some way . Out of these MPC-HC looks more neutral and little more punchy :)

Still to try the JPLAY .

Audio file are either in WAV or flac , and no equivalization/enhancements used in these players

You can even see the difference between SW players that too without a good DAC! What else can you ask from a clean power integrated amp? Having lived with Exposure for about a year, I am not surprised with your experience. It deserves equivalent downstream and upstream gear. You must add at least an HRT, Arcam rPAC, Audioquest Dragonfly, Meridian Explorer DACs or a CD player from NAD, Marantz or Cambridge Audio as a minimum. Jamo E series are decent speakers. I thoroughly enjoyed a pair of E530 bookshelves for a year.

That is where my worry now, as the Amp is so neutral and just echos the source , i don't want to endup buying a DAC that does not suite my taste . I can not make a blind purchase on it .

Out of the DACs you mentioned , Is there anything that is closer to the sound signature of Exposure CD player ? I don't like Marantz and and I think i am ok with the signature of NAD CD player and CA i think will be too soft for my taste .

CD player is not a option for me as i have need to use it for movies .

Sorry my post was incomplete and got sent. Still getting used to iPhone.

HRT was detailed and sparkly. not bright but not sweet or warm either. HifimeDIY although only 3k was a surprise. Sweet, detailed, but lacked the ultimate resolution and refinement.

NAD DAC1 HD which I got for demo was really a step up. Although its a 24/48 dac it sounded warm but detailed. Very sweet and convenient with the wireless dongle.

I have not heard the exposure 2010 cd player hence can't offer a comparison but it will require a damn good dac to match an 80k CD player.

Get foobar with wasapi plugin, disable replaygain and then try.

Hi , I tried this and really good compared to all other players . Thanks for suggesting this .

Is there way to use it for the movies or any other good player for movies or audio plugin for XBMC ?

You can go thru the external player settings on XBMC wiki and configure to launch Foobar for music and MPC-HC for movies from within XBMC jukebox.

You should audition Arcam rDAC (A used one may come close to your budget)

The reviews for Tube Magic D2 and Beresford Bushmaster are equally good and they are almost in the same price range. Any preference?

How about Schiit Modi at $99 , favoured by John Darko over other DAC such as ARCAM rDAC.

BTW what is delta sigma implementation and how different is that from others .

Schiit might be good as Headphone aplifier but dout if it will fit into a stereo system.
Also it does not have an Optical or Coaxial input so cant be connected to WD
