Super confused in buying a powered subwoofer

I have ordered Polk hts 10. It's in transit but here is a background picture from net
Connect two RCA splitters to both the AUX channels out of your AMP. Connect the existing cable to one of the output of the RCA splitter and connect another pair of RCA cable from the RCA splitter to the subwoofer. I think this is what the guy meant. You can connect either of the below kind of splitter to each channel. You will need two of each

Purchased the subwoofer. What cable do I need for it. I thought RCA to RCA will do but the guy told me to get 2 RCA to 1 RCA if I want to use the low pass filter, and phase correction. Is that correct?
Wholly krapp. I forgot to ask you what amplifier you are using. Sorry.
Use a Standard 2 wire RCA to RCA connector. Take REC/OUT from your Norge and plug it into the back of the sub woofer. You should not use LFE input for Stereo applications unless the amplifier has a low pass filter.
Read the sub woofer manual

"We have to use 2 x 1 RCA cable to use the LPF control of the subwoofer. The subwoofer pre-out of your amp will be connected with the line in of your subwoofer." This is what they are saying. I don't follow what they r saying

Its most likely that they wanna get rid of the cable they have and make a sale. Its a straightforward connection 2 wire rca to rca.

Your amp doesn't have subwoofer pre-out. But it has recording out which also will function like a subwoofer out with full range of audio output. The easiest is what @sandeepmohan has suggested. Just connect a simple left and right RCA cable pair from the recording out of your amp to the line in of your subwoofer.

If your amp didn't have recording out then the only option you would have is to use a one RCA into 2 cable or the MX splitter that I posted.

There is no rocket science involved here

I am confused because I have never connected a sub before and the dealer is saying that if you want to use low pass filter function you will have to do this. if the simple RCA cable would do I would much rather prefer that, as it is easily available online. I Apologise if I am repeating myself but I am being extra careful as the dealer said that I have to make sure that everything is okay on day 1 so I need to get the cable before the sub arrives.

Your amp doesn't have a low pass filter to implement a subwoofer out. Yes. the humble and simple RCA cable will do.

All you need to do is get the cable and connect your rec out of the amp to the subwoofer in. Your subwoofer has a low pass filter which can be controlled by a knob on the subwoofer back plate.
