Sony HT s 40R soundbar plus subwoofer+ surrounds. Perfectly working via HDMI arc. Only problem is it's display on subwoofer unit doesn't work. Anyone wants to take please take it from me to repair and use it. Local bangalore pick up only. Area : yeshwantpur

Does anyone have any of these USB IR receivers that came with TV tuner remotes, mediacenter kit, etc. This used to common 20 years back if you were building a HTPC and wanted to control things on the computer.

I need 2 of these for controlling my numerous raspberry PIs. I just need the IR receiver and not the remote. These are no longer available on amazon, flipkart, etc and will be grateful if you have it in your bin and can ship it to me. Of course I will pay for courier charges, etc

Does anyone have this lying with you? I have this and I had put my raspberry pi inside to make this into a streamer, but my VFD Vacuum Fluorescent Display) has conked off. It probably can be repaired and I have to take a look at it. Most probably the power supply that drives the VFD has gone bad. This officially works only with windows, but I made it work with my Linux HTPC and later with a raspberry pi. This is no longer manufactured and hence I can't repair if the part is no longer available. So my heartfelt gratitude to anyone who has this lying around but not using it. Even if it not working, I can replace few parts and make mine work.

Pre-USB era hardware, could be anywhere around 30 year old.

Thank you for the effort. Unfortunately this is a serial cable. I have the exact same model with me too. But converting that to an USB interface will be difficult for me. I must have got this somewhere in the very late 90s. The remote however can be used with linux LIRC daemon and the above IR diode connected to the PI GPIO pins. If you have a Raspberry PI and keen to have your PI remote controlled, I can help you with the connections. In that case I can pull out mine (I know where my forgotten box is).
