hi folks

this is a cd rack i had made a few years ago. approx 6ft h x 2.5ft w. depth is about 7-8inches and the shelves are about 6-7inches apart.

the unit had glass doors that were broken in storage. the hinges are still there. it is packed and ready for pickup.

owing to the size and weight, i will not be able to ship this out. if you're in bangalore, please feel free to pick it up. kindly send me a pm if you're interested.

i'm hoping the rack will encourage people to grow their music collection

i've received a number of queries in a short span of time. to clarify:

- the rack is one solid piece. it cannot be dismantled.
- the packing i was referring to is basically corrugated cardboard wrapped all around the rack.
- it's pretty heavy. will require at least 2 people to move it.
- i am located at langford town.

I think it should ideally go to the one who has enough CDs to use up atleast half of the rack space. Empty CD racks are uncomfortable to look at.

i have no idea why, but i've always derived great pleasure from a physical collection of music. it started with vinyl, moved on to cassettes and now it's cds.
i hope i'll never have to switch to music stored on my computer!

actually, that's the 'godown' rack in the guest bedroom.
the smaller 'showroom' rack is in the living room and sports some cool box sets

unfortunately, I gave up vinyl over 20 years ago when I switched to cd.
while I love the sound of vinyl, I don't think I have the wherewithal (or the spare change!)
to double dip on my favourite albums.

The only reason I am giving away is that I have US counterparts of these discs as well. So though the Indian versions are of no use to me, I realised it doesnt mean they dont hold high value to some others.

On a serious note, Capt. are you visiting that town? If he or you or anyone else can courier the box to me, I can distribute to the FMs who booked them at my cost. I called Sarith 2 weeks back and he said he will revert quickly. No idea why there is such a long silence. Not that it makes any difference to anyone except may be hydrovac who I know is a li'l upset.
