Chocolate (2008) starring JeeJa Yanin (Yanin Vismitananda )
Strictly for martial arts (of the Thai variety) lovers
May be some of you have already seen this, but I came across the movie just recently - this was not surprisingly not suggested by imdb when on Ong-Bak / Tony Jaa / Muay Thai page. Next on my list is Raging Phoenix. Only for those who can ignore stuff like title, story, acting etc and just enjoy the stunts.
I loved the well choreographed stunts . Awesome but mostly realistic. Yanin is a treat to watch in the fights and I was simply amazed at watching her stunt capability and pure martial arts skills. . It is otherwise filled with some soppy sentimental scenes and some weird 'comedy'.
Story: if you really want a story for such films
When Zin, former girlfriend of a Thai mob boss, falls for Masashi, a Japanese gangster in Thailand, the boss banishes them: Masashi to Japan, and Zin, with her small daughter Zen, to live next to a martial arts school. Zen is autistic, with uncanny swift reflexes. She watches the students next door and Muay Thai movies, absorbing every technique. She's now a teen, and her mother needs chemotherapy. Zin has taken in a chubby kid, Moom, who watches over Zen. Moom finds a ledger listing business men who owe Zin money; he goes to them one at a time to collect in order to pay for Zin's treatment. Zen, with her martial skills, becomes his enforcer. A showdown with the boss is inevitable.
