I'm thinking of ordering 2 TP21's from eBay.com. Could you please let me know:
Did you order your TP20 off eBay.com and pay with Paypal? How did delivery happen?
Did you get charged customs duty or any other additional levies?

I have ordered one from ebay two days back. It was a direct payment through credit card. Waiting for the delivery.

Please post feedback here about the delivery process; I've never done this before so I'd like to know about what additional levies there may be after arrival.If the post-office or courier guys collect the addon charges, good. But if I have to chase and brown-nose customs guys myself, I might just find a rope and end it all. Or maybe an Uzi... yeah, that's better...:licklips:

Dont worry, I see that the amp is not so heavy and is within $40. So, dont worry about customs (you stand a 85% chance of not getting any additional duty), as most of these are available with sellers from Hongkong and China and they will for sure take the postal airmail route.
In worst case, you will be paying 400 or 500, not more than that.
I have also been doing some serious reading on building a stereo setup!

I want to order 2 TP21's (part of a tri-amp attempt) so that'd be about ~$160 total. So in worst case would I be paying duty at the post office, or to the postman on delivery? Please say yes

Is the seller from USA or HK? I think I would explain you things offline. In the worst case, you will be paying the duty to postman or in the postoffice of approximately 900-1200.

Thanks, man! I was looking at Arjen's listing on eBay US. So he's shipping from China @ $50 + $25 shipping, per TP21. That looks pretty good!

Nope, only because the TP21 has a little more power than the TP20.
At low impedance & no passive crossover in the path, I think those few extra watts might make quite a difference?

Heard that the TP20 has slightly better sound quality than the TP21. I got this from statement from Indeed hi-fi labs:
"Hello, TP20 sounds little bit better than TP21 but 20WX2 power output.
The two Panasonic (big purple) capacitors for 12V DC power reserve and filter.
TP21 has a headphone function, it independent to drive a headphone by OP amp
chip. Regards Peter ".
Just some information that might be useful. I don't know why the TP20 should sound better, considering that the two power capacitors are useful in the TP21. Maybe someone else can also ask Indeed for clarifications.

Another of my information transactions with the Topping sellers. It seems they find the TP20 Tripath chip better sounding in general than the one in the TP21. My question was that the circuit design in both seems almost the same, except for the large input power capacitors in the TP21. Here was the response:
"The sounds quality is not depend on the circuit design and resistor/ capacitor only; it is certainly by Tripath chips performance. So there are the different sound effect with the different IC, TP20 (TA2020) is little bit good sound than TP21 (TP2021) by our sense. "
It would be really helpful to have some more reviews of this unit, from members here who have had a chance to own/audition the Topping.

Well, today I ordered one Topping TP21, two TP20's and two Vifa X25 RR tweeters for my little triamping pipedream. My first eBay shopping spree hyeah: and, I suspect, only the first of many...
Soon (well, 7 to 20 days) I will finally know if my grand plan comes up roses or ends up just another noisome brain-fart.

That's why I have invited a member of HFV to listen critically and write a audiophilic review so other members can take a call on it, while I continue to listen to music For my ears, it works well with Audire IO2 (in the background listening / burn-in / brain burn-in / initial stages of my setup / <<whatever you like>> period). But then, this is my first ever decent setup outside of crappy PC speakers, it just may be my inexperience speaking :indifferent14:
