Hello Folks,

Recently bought a pair of Cadence Diva floor standing speakers. Presently i am driving them with a NAD C352 amplifier (80 watts). I have heard the diva's been driven by cadence VA 1 tube amplifier (which sounded superb IMO) but looking for a cheaper tube amplifier around 50 -60k which will drive them easily. I listen to all kinds of music. Suggestions please ??? Anyone heard Jolida tube amps ?

Jolida amps are nice. But they won't come under that budget unless you buy used. Also if you are considering Jolida, consider a Line Magnetic. I will suggest you to get a Line Magnetic LM-216IA. I heard this recently they sounded much better to me for the same ball park price.

Hi anankar1977,

Try the Lyrita Audio Tube amps, they are just superb.

Regards,

+1 to that. I have heard 4 of the Lyrita valve amplifiers

- Integre push pull
- 2A3 SET amp - 3 wpc
- 6C33 SET amp - 15 wpc
- GM70 SET amp - 15 wpc

Of the four, I think you should be checking out the GM70 for the cadence divas. Viren (of Lyrita audio) is based in Delhi; however he offers home demos. If you are not happy, you can ship it back to him. You can google Lyrita audio and check their website for contact details.

Best.

do speak to Viren of Lyrita on whether his amp would be able to give the power required to the speaker. He is very Helpful. You also need to be clear whether you are going for an Int amp or for a Pre-power combo.
There is this For Sale thread by Srinisundar who is selling an Awesome pair of Vincent Mono blocks..they would need a pre as well though but the amp is great
A Sugden A21 Int amp would have been a great combination..i had one which I sold off a couple of years ago , not sure if any other are still available.Although it is SS, it sounds more tube than some tube amps !.
BTW have you checked with Cadence if they do have a used/demo etc VA1 available ? might be worth a shot.

I remember a couple of years ago, FM HifiAshok along with a couple of friends from Delhi had done a shootout between the Cadence VA1 and the Lyrita 6C33 driving his cadence arista electrostatics. The results were divided, but he seemed to prefer the Lyrita 6C33 to the VA1.

HiFiAshok has since then updgraded to the Cadance Canyasas. I think if you search around, you will find the thread.

The Lyrita Amps are also less expensive than the cadence VA1. Do give Viren a call......he is very helpful and will not try and sell you something that you do not need.
