If its a desktop, you can get a USB 3.0 adapter and use it.

I bought one recently and have it installed on my desktop. The one I purchased was a Transcend one and it costed me around Rs 1200.

As mentioned you can use a PCI card (I too bought one). However, they say long term usage of the Pci slot is not good for the desktop, some experts can verify.

^^ Thats an absolute FUD. @George you can opt for a PCI slot USB 3 card for 2,3 USB 3.0 ports. Something like THIS

I don't know who they are! PCI slots are there to be used. You can even buy very expensive and hugely fast solid-state storage that slots directly into PCI.

The only thing I might have heard is that PCI USB3 might not be as fast as native USB3 --- but, if the MB doesn't have it, that not's something to worry about, and if it does, the question wouldn't arise anyway!

What is FUD? I have the PCI Slot Card for more than 2 months now and don't find any issue at all.

2 months!!!, my C2D system used as my HTPC now has a network card to it PCI slot for more than 4 years now ......

FUD... already explained .... :)
