Vinyl I am listening to...

Spinning Disco deewane (Mint). Pressed by EMI for South Africa.

Looks a bit different from those regular Indian copies. Including the slightly different album art and the black label. The Indian pressing was good too. Have you had the opportunity to compare the two pressings?

Front art work is different in SA copy. I did compare sound quality, both sound equally good (little bit sweeter in SA copy). This album was bought in SA recently by cousin.

yesterday's listening with the CNC phonostage built for my good friend FM JK_Chaos (http://www.hifivision.com/phono-tur...owered-diy-cnc-phono-stage-60.html#post604044), was a very long one by my standards and finished at 4am (was playing in the background while Brazil was receiving another mauling at the hands of Holland). These records are part of a 50 record collection which I was gifted over the weekend by a colleague:

Today I had gone to a dealer to purchase some records. I bought a few Hindustani vocal records. Then he showed this set of 9 Jazz records, the case is bad but the records are in mint condition. He is asking for Rs. 3,000 for the set. I have no idea of western music, I want to buy them for my kids. Is it worth it? This may not be the right thread but I am posting it here because it is the most active thread. Kindly let me have your feedback dear FMs.
Best regards
Navin

This is Swing, which was popular in the early 30's mainly for the dance.. I think the one on the cover is Ted Lewis .

I got introduced to swing only 3 years ago and soon got hooked on to it.

But I'm not sure it would click easily with every ones taste. Its not that much close to Jazz too.

Regarding price, being mint , getting it for 2k would be a steal !!
