VLC player - jerking on pan shots

VLC is not the player for HD rips. Try using MPC HC.

May I know why?What are known issues if you use VLC 1.1 or more?

MPC HC is what was recommended to me in the forum and when I made the move, the performance improvement with 'not so great' laptop hardware was great.

I dont know the reason or improvements that very resent versions of VLC brings in though.

Well VLC is a good all in one solution,but MPCHC has better video Q.Both support Hardware acceleration.VLC doesnt require filters & can also output audio digitally with ease.
Again it depends on better GPU.I could easily play 1080p & some of Blurays with vlc-
