Hi friends,

I am moving to india and moving my music gear along with me. I have heard india has voltage fluctuations. I found they have voltage stabilizer which stabilizes voltage in india. But i wanted something with consistent voltage to my gear since i got it converted to 220-240V. What do you guys recommend?

i would recommend going for a power conditioner(like furman if price is no issue or monster or panamax) specifically for the equipments and going for online ups for house in general which will give u backup and also some voltage stabilization(like APC or EMERSON) then we can assume a decent degree of protection also do not forget to check proper earthing connection.welcome to india:)

Thanks Prasanna. Quick question Furman and Panamax are available in India?

What do you guys think of IGBT based static voltage stabilizers? they retail around 25k INR but they seem to provide 230V +- 1%

Any SERVO stabilizer :)

These ( IGBT with PWM operation) are very much faster than motorised servo stabilisers. Much better than units like the Furman which use switched taps on a transformer! Higher reliability too and nowadays most seem protected for shorts and over voltage conditions. Lighter and smaller foot print also. Many manufacturers in India ( many export them too !). What brand were you looking at ?
Most variac based servo stabilisers start becoming quite noisy with time and certainly not acceptable for 'audio' use.

@Fantastic: I was looking at Suvik IGBT Stabilizers...seems they export to other countries like Russia etc...ever heard of them?
