Hi,

I have been wanting a larger screen for my self, been keen on the Panasonic p60s60 which seems about the right size and budget, it is retailing for about 1.2L in showrooms, How is this TV, I have not been able to find many reviews on it yet thats why posting.

The only other 2 Plasma I have looked at are the Samsungs, the 64F8500 is about 2Lacs which is too mcuh for it IMHO (..but in budget if there is PQ worth 80k more in this plasma), though they have a 55 inch, but I am not keen on any of the smart TV features, and I dont know how good a 64 inch screen is at 1080p. I also did not like the look of the Samsung with its got a wierd stand. Though is the PQ is much better than the Panasonic I might consider it.

My usage is mainly HD/BluRay movies (45%), StarSports HD on the weekends only for BPL (10%), and PS4 during the week(45%). But I am most looking forward to the PQ and the sheer size.

Please post your comments, and suggestions.
Thanks a lot.

If you've the budget, go for 64F8500. If not, then you won't regret buying Panasonic 60S60.

Just saw in one of the Plasma 2013 threads that you got your TV replaced or something, is the PQ of the p60s60 not even at par with the p42v20D? if that is the case then I will get the Samsung asd I could not live with a lesser PQ set than my current one.

I didn't get S60, I got DT60 LED which is far inferior when compared to S60. Go to a showroom and demo yourself. I think you'll be pretty impressed with S60. Take your own stuff in a pen-drive.

I did go to take a Demo, and was not impressed at all with the Plasma. But it was no fault of the plasma I believe the content they had here at the Panasonic Shop in bhopal, was horrible. They did not even have a BluRay player attached, and all the HD content they wanted to show me was Tataksy 1080i, and some music videos from their pen drive with the inbuilt TV player. So I have told them I will visit again with my WD TV or the PS4

Samsung 64F8500 is on par with the VT60 but for a cheaper price!!! It is the only plasma with high bright levels hence also suited for brighter environments which plasma is not. IT is one of the BEST plasma tv's you can buy. If budget permits, grab it!!! S60 is the entry level plasma from Panasonic. It is unfair to compare it with F8500. You can google reviews for F8500, you will be pleasantly surprised :)

i have 50s60 and the picture quality is fantastic....i would suggest you to buy the 50 inch and not the 60 inch because all the HD and SD channels of all the DTH are compressed heavily and even bluray rips and original blurays look much better on a 50 inch than on the 60 inch....it is very difficult to judge the picture quality of any tv in the showrooms because the settings kept in the showrooms are completely different from the settings we keep at home....and again if we demo the tv with home settings in the showrooms the picture quality is not going to impress us because of the bright lights in the showrooms.....s60 is not meant for bright rooms and for only dimly lit rooms because there is no anti reflective filter on the panel....s60 has got a fantastic appearance and has got deep blacks and well saturated colours....go for it if you dont watch 3d

S60 is one of the best budget plasma tv's in the market.......perfect value for money. For the price it gives you the best bang for the buck. Having said that it can never match the top end plasmas like ST, GT or VT.
If budget and size are not a constraint then I would put my money on Samsung 64F8500 which can rival the VT60 at a much lesser price. Not to mention the advantage of watching in brighter viewing conditions. I just happened to have a demo of the F8500 yesterday at the Samsung Store and it was mind blowing, totally incinerated all the LEDs displayed in the store.
Another trick to demo a plasma in a store is to request the sales staff to turn down the light and then take the demo. Bright light is an overkill for plasma and when sitting beside LEDs in a store, it will appear washed out in comparison to the overly bright LEDs.
