Hi,

I have almost finalized buying KEF Q300 Bookshelves + C4-SUBWOOFER..now the big question haunting me is should i go for a normal AVR or a pre-amp. Budget is 35 -40 K max....please suggest...

I liked AVR RX-473 from yamaha..also DENON 1713 fits the budget..

My location is pune..

Thanks Audio GURUS and BANDHUS !!

Are you going to play movies on them? Are you going to expand your setup to 5.1/7.1? If yes, you may mention your preference movies:music so that we could suggest. Also what will be your source? CD/BD player or PC or Media player or...?

What you are referring to is Integrated amp, not preamp.
Preamp is a part of every integrated amp and they are available separately in which case you need to pair them with power amp to drive your speakers.

My choice is 60 % music and 40 % movies....just yeterday I auditioned at AV Excellence, Pune...heard the paradigm bookshelf speakers and also Tannoy....so its a choice now between KEF Q300 and Paradigm ones...obviously Paradigms are relatively cheaper...
