Yes, you are right. My bad, I was looking at their global site and didn't realize:

The Indian site is conspicuously silent about this:

Yes, it's because they will offer 450 nits to Indians very soon. After initial imported units will finish they will roll in made in Andhra Pradesh panels.

Is that the reason why this is not available easily? Basically, they are not just selling it. It was available on FK for just 2 Hrs, and on MI its simply not deliverable.

No, for now it's due to covid and logistics issue. 75 will never sell like 55 inch. 75 takers are very less in India. But change of panel will happen after influencers are done with TV. The recently launched Redmi x65 has different panels from 5-6 companies and they differ a lot.
Similarly mi tv 4 had 450 nits on reviewer unit and just 220 nits for normal Indians, while Indians on this forum were expecting it to have 800 nits.

So better to buy now? or have they already switched to 450 nits panel?

We really don't know what they are selling.

Really don't know. I have lux meter with me and mine did 931 nits, I got it before reviewers got it for this reason. I don't think they have switched to 450 nits yet. The problem is that Xaiomi has never claimed 1000 nits and removing it specifically from Indian site is a proof that Xaiomi can get away changing panel with no liability.
P.S Sony does same to Indian units.

How much does a decent lux meter costs?

Any other option to test & check?

LOL, people in India telling 8 bit + FRC is not good for HDR meanwhile Samsung's flagship is itself is 8 bit+ frc and has better color gradient than 10 bit q90r.

Made in India is actually Assemble in India. Take example of Xaiomi K20 pro, it is made in India with Samsung Amoled display but we all know that that display isn't made in India.
The panel will never be made in India. We don't have the tech to make a FALD TV with 192 zones yet.

I don't think they'll switch the panel down to below 700-800 nits as FALD is naturally very bright no matter how cheap you make them as it's individually controlled and direct lit TV.

That's very true thinking. FALD are usually brighter. But can you think of any reason of removing 1000 nits from Indian variant? From website.

They never mentioned 1000-nits on the Indian unit. The reason is simple as if they mentioned it people will start thinking about the brightness of their other TVs which are pretty bad.

I highly doubt the panel will be downgraded on this unit since there are no other FALD panels available. For their other TVs they could do it as there are dime a dozen panels with the same screen size and spec and are cheaper. For FALD panels there are very few alternatives.

Also they've started making all their TVs in India now, which should get better with time and QC will improve. So will consistency.

If someone order now, are they coming for installation in this lockdown period ?
Yes, from Flipkart

This is the first FALD TV with zero dark corners, sony x900h has very noticeable dark corners. So QC is definitely great. Yeah your point seems right. 700+ nits is great for HDR. I use this at 5/100 brightness
