The receiver is Yamaha HTR 3067:Well the HDMI out of the receiver should support ARC and it seems from an image on the net that HDMI out 1 does support ARC. Further this should be connected to the HDMI (arc/earc enabled port on the TV).
Then you should select the the digital audio input as ARC in the receiver setup menu and set the audio o/p from TV as arc (LG has this setting). The firestick audio should be delivering Dolby digital plus to the TV (firestick is connected to the TV)
There is no reason why 5.1 sound should not be available. Try powering on and off the components in different sequences to eliminate any hand shake issues.
The message you are getting above is because your receiver does not support 4K so the protection kicks in.
I do plan to. May have to call their helpline to avail.Have you taken the warranty from MI?
I see the reading in the meter is in Lux. So if I convert it to nits(718/3.14) it comes to around 229 nits which is very low for HDR. So are the readings already in nits or my conversion off.Btw HDR movie mode is hitting the least peak brightness.
Sounds like ARC is not enabled on AVR, I too faced this in the past.I also tried following: - connected HDMI to HDMI2 of TV (eARC) and connected to one of the HDMI input of Yamaha. This resulted in no sound from AVR.
The receiver is Yamaha HTR 3067:
Yamaha HTR 3067 Specs
It says:
4K Ultra HD Pass-through
All the other functions are working properly, including CEC..
I also tried following: - connected HDMI to HDMI2 of TV (eARC) and connected to one of the HDMI input of Yamaha. This resulted in no sound from AVR.
Only thing that is left is to try toslink/optical cable as TV sound output.
I have enabled ARC and toggled it a couple of time however no resolution.Sounds like ARC is not enabled on AVR, I too faced this in the past.
No arc or earc will work when the hdmi cable is connected from the receiver hdmi out 1 (labelled arc) to the hdmi port labelled earc on the tv. Thereafter connect the firestick on another hdmi port on tv. In the settings of tv set the audio o/p as arc/earc. In the receiver is whichever source you want to listen to the sound please set the digital audio as arc. Now you should be getting audio through your receivers speakers.
Regarding 4k pass through let me chk.
Do you have a audio pass through in your TV? Enable it, let's see if it works.I am getting audio, but that's not 5.1.. that's where the problem is.
Why are you dividing it? It's 718 nits only. The sensor is enclosed under 1 m2 area. Don't use Google formula it's for open sensors.I see the reading in the meter is in Lux. So if I convert it to nits(718/3.14) it comes to around 229 nits which is very low for HDR. So are the readings already in nits or my conversion off.
First chk audio settings in the firestick should be set to surround sound > best available then in the tv audio settings select bitstream/passthrough then you should be getting 5.1I am getting audio, but that's not 5.1.. that's where the problem is.
Yes, tried that as well..Do you have a audio pass through in your TV? Enable it, let's see if it works.
Any pending firmware update on AVR/TV? Worth a shot...Yes, tried that as well..
Okay, sorry I ain't very knowledgeable about it, hence tried to confirm it. Thanks for the info. Can you also share the readings for black levels on ANSI checkboard pattern. I am looking to book it in weekend from mi home store since it's not available at mi.com for my location and that number will help me in my decision. Why are you dividing it? It's 718 nits only. I am sensing its the issue either with cable or the AVR. AVR is HTR 3067 and I couldn't find any firmware for that.Any pending firmware update on AVR/TV? Worth a shot...

Hdmi cable maybe a culprit eh, I have this avr and ARC works with my 9 year old Sony 32 the cable was a bluerigger hdmi cable with firestick 4k.. In settings hdmi do check arc is set to on for the avr. Can't say abt 4k as I don't have a 4k tv or earc enabled TV. And there was no firmware update on this avr so leave it as it is. We have an old horse better not mess with it nowIt is supporting the video out, but not 4K.
I tried connecting Firestick directly to TV and do ARC to the receiver. However, the 5.1 audio doesn't reach to 3067 through HDMI.
BTW, did the technician who came for install try to convince you not to Wall mount the TV? Curious because the guy who installed it for my friend here in Bangalore actually convinced him to keep it on a stand due to the weight. I mean it is 30kg but wouldn't that be in the wheelhouse for a decent wall mount? (and assuming the wall itself is decent quality)Ok will share within 24 hours
