Hi,

Anyone updated to latest firmware 2.1 / 2.1.1 / 2.1.2?

At present I am running 2.02. I am quite happy with the performance now. The only feature important in the new update (at least for me) is the support for encrypted DVD. So I am hesitating to update fearing it may break some existing functionality.

I have read on other forums that different users had different experiences with the latest updates. Some are happy, some are not happy saying that there are regressions.

So, I would like to know from all our Xtreamer friends on this forum - your experiences with the new updates

Hi all,

Now version 2.1.3 is also out, but mixed feedback on the net. Please advise whether to update - presently I am 2.02.

2.1.3 is stable - I have been running it for over a week now and have not noticed any of the problems found in the prior 2 releases.

Got my XSC last week and so happy -- Goodbye fan noise :yahoo: Santosh - your XSC is is waiting for you...

for the first time, my xtreamer (2.0.2) started freezing. Seems it has developed an allergy overnight for an external usb hdd

my Xtreamer's fan noise has increased drastically. I can almost hear the noise in the next room :sad:
Is there any one else having the problem ?
Is the XSC mod available in India ?

Count me in, though Im not an Xtreamer owner as yet, but would like to get rid of the fan noise issue from the start.

I bought xstreamer from ebay india and it looks used. The remote is not working and one switch is permanently pressed inside. :annoyed:

I called up their dealer in delhi and they say that they are not responsible for the products sold through ebay. They dont sell the remote seperately also.

Ebay seller is also not responding. I am really pissed off. The delhi dealer should provide the warranty after all its their product no matter where I bought from.

Pls suggest me how can I get a replacement remote from ebay seller or delhi dealer.

If you have done the payment through PAISAPAY protected channel (by default all the transactions through eBay India are PaisaPay protected, you can check it by going to "My PaisaPay" section) , raise this as a concern to eBay and ask for the refund by telling them that the unit itself if not working or in broken state. The seller gets the payment from ebay only after 15days. Hope the 15days is not yet over after the committed delivery date displayed in your invoice. For more clarification, go through the paisapay refund policy. In any case, start a Refund request immediately in ebay. Also dont forget to keep a copy of all the communication with the seller and put a -ve feedback. Also publish his id where ever you can. By the way, who is the seller and did you check his feedback percentage before you made the deal?

As Sajith has pointed out you should look for your money back through Paisa Pay protection policy but if in case the 15 days period is over then don't look for a replacement Xtreamer remote and instead look out for a Logitech Harmony Universal Remotes, which will also work with your other devices. Anyways Xtreamer remote is of very poor quality and they have a weak IR transmitter because of which it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

i am also not using the xtreamer remote, i have configured few buttons on my one 4 all remote and i am able to manage most of the stuff and it works fine.

The first lot of Xtreamer had issue with fan noise i have seen two of them and when i bought mine via their own online services it came with fan with almost zero noise, its mentioned in their forum.
BTW any link for these cooling fins if we can order directly from China?Official price is 20 euro and 14 euro shipping charges which is quite costly.

I'm very confused.... whether to buy Xtreamer or WDTV live..... but I have few question for Xtreamer owners....

1. Does it support Dolby TrueHD ?
2. Does it support DVDs with menu option ?
3. How about wireless connectivity... On their website they claim even If one doesn't have a wireless router ... one can just connect two antennas and can have wireless network ... Has anyone of you tried this ?
4. What about internet radio.... ?Can you access any internet radio website ???

- Currently it does not ,future firmwares it may.

- Using adhoc mode you can use wireless. But if you have wired or wireless router why not use that as it makes things simple

- i tried internet radio and it worked fine.

i have said this many times before wdtv live is in early stages and will still require more firmware updates to improve with time.

Xtreamer is a good and stable product and has been working well. I own one from the last 5 months and its working great.
