whenever I go to xtreamer live, it shows me a man humping a globe, and asks me to upgrade. When I press "1" key, it says checking for upgrades, and then says it needs to download the latest, to which I say "OK", but then nothing happens!
 
which version are you guys running? I have 2.4.0 but trying to upgrade to 2.4.1 - maybe that would solve the xtreamer live issue. But I am not able to download from this link

installed the new firmware after installing the emergency firmware,the startup is pretty fast now and the shutdown is also good, its working well, i have not been able to do much with the media jukebox though, need to spend some time on the same

Surprisingly, the xtreamer live now shows up, even without upgrading anything.
Xtreamer new UI is looking quite nice over HDMI to my 720p projector. I think it is time to buy a decent HDMI switch - may be a cheap good avr/ processor.
 
I got Xtreamer Sidewinder, upgraded to firmware 2.4.1, played Full Blu ray rips of Transformer and Avatar over wired network from eTrayZ, no shtuter and got DTS HD MA and Dolby True HD passthrough to my marantz AVR. All types of files played without any flaw. As far as my experience, as a media player Xtreamer is one of the best apart from feeling very bad about advertising for MK1 and practices on their forum.

could plz me kw the settings. Recently i hv upgraded to 2.4.1, but thru HDMI is showing as PCM.

Your Etrayz has been fitted with 1TB HDx2 or 2TB HD as one??... Since stutter problem is with 2TB HDD.

PCM should be fine as long as output is same as the codec in file. I.e. if if file as DTS 5.1, Xtreamer would decode 6 channels and send these 6 channels as PCM to receiver.

Only if the codec is not understood by Xtreamer, it would send original audio stream to receiver.
 
Watched Avatar on my xtreamer yesterday, the experience was awesome, though the file size is huge 45.5 gb, but this dump is worth holding on to. The new firmware is good and sleek,wish there was some way to change the startup screen from red to blue.
 
Thinking to install the new firmware right away or wait for some time then install in case of hidden bugs. One thing though i have liked about the xtreamer is that product reliability and firmware has been pretty good with no issues at all for me, it has played every damm thing i have thrown at it. Was just going through the playon thread and i must say the issues present and the bugs in firmware was really a disappointment to read.
 
I have just ordered Xtreamer and waiting for delivery :)

I can't wait to play the Dolby TruHD and DTS-HD MA since my receiver supports these formats.
