Xtreamer Media Player (XMP) Owners Thread

Guys,

can anyone tell me, how well does XMP works with torrent client. Or, should I ask whether it has torrent client? in first place.
 

Got my Xtreamer PRO from N.V.TRADING day before yesterday..

Sohit shipped the product immediately & i received it yesterday but was very disappointed with my product :sad:

I upgraded to the latest firmware 2.5.2 & faced a lot of issues with the player

* The playback of HD videos was never smooth & it stuck frequently

* HD audio didn't passthrough my ONKYO HT6200 amplifier, sometimes when it passed the audio also stuttered.

* Youtube HD video playback was also lagging at some places especially DARK KNIGHT HD 1080p trailer

* Sharing with my PC also had its share of issues.

* The setup file ".xtr" was not recognized at all, i used only the emergency firmware.

* Sohit called up today to check whether i got the product & i told him about the issues, he asked me not to worry & wanted me to mail to [email protected].

* Now I have sent the product back, total expenses = Rs.14,900( Xtreamer Pro ) + 600( extra damage for the courier charges for sending the product back :mad: )

I sincerely hope Xtreamer lives up to its promises of full HD support coz thats the main reason i opted for the product after extensive research on hifivision.com :confused:





P.S : I spent the whole day going through all the troubleshooting methods in various forums & I upgraded the firmware as shown in the youtube video.

P.P.S : Sohit, do attend my calls, i'm confused why you aren't attending my calls.:cool:

 
Xtreamer has released new firmware

Ver 2.5.4

* PHP recompiled with Curl, json, bzip support.
* Blu-Ray folder playback improvement.
* Bug fixes

Bugs fixed
* Issues with not being able to play some HD-Audio files. Fixed.
* VCD info OSD modified to provide more accurate information
* HDD detection issue after powering up from NAS Mode while HDD is on spin down. Fixed

I have installed this new firmware and found it good. Issue mentioned below which was posted by Aneelr has been resolved in this new firmware. Also when I played the bluray folder it played all the files in it, earlier it was playing only the first file.

But there's a catch w.r.t DDTrueHD audio, it does not play automatically when the track is chosen. We need to traverse through the TV out settings on our remote all the way from the first option (ie 480 i guess) to 1080p@60Hz option, only then it plays, otherwise the video is freezed."

I'm very sorry for the negative feedback, the entire issue was resolved :yahoo:

The culprit was my laptop which i found out has WiFi probs of late, I tested the same clips with my sata 3.5" harddisk & it played with the HD audio :)

Anyways SOHIT checked the product I sent & replaced it with a new one :clapping:

Am extremely happy with my Xtreamer Pro now

Where can i get VOB blanker??Just to be on the same page with you all....I decrypt the movie with either fab or dvddecryptor, then open the file with VOB, and then just use shrink?? Is that correct?My process right now is this: for some movies dvddecryptor, then shrink work just fine. For others I need to use that same process but with anydvd running also. Would it be better to keep doing these two. Or should I just use decryptor, vob, then shrink??Thanks in advance.

Bought another Xtreamer yesterday (Sidewinder model) as my previous one was taken over by my sis. Was thinking of trying out a different media player but somehow didn't feel any need to go for a different player(i.e. WDTV Live or ACRyan). I felt that whatever other players can do Xtreamer also can do the same, atleast for my kind of usage. Am I wrong in assuming that? What are the major differences between these players in terms of playability of different types of media?
 
No difference, they all play the same stuff, only thing to consider is the pricing and how good the product is. Have been using xtreamer for along time and it's awesome, i am yet to try out the new firmware update, so if anyone has tried the same please let me know.
 
Yes Doshie, exactly my thought was. I didn't see any difference and as already tried and tested the Xtreamer(yes the fan noise can be annoying at times but this new one is without fan) I've no major complaints about the player yet.
@anm, bought it for 8,490Rs. Got it from the same seller from whom I bought the previous one. Still waiting for the item to reach me.

Exploring my xtreamer pro.
in fact last 1 month my days and weekends are jampacked ,so unable toexplore X treamer pro properly

1) Is firmware update is must?
2) Bught WD greeen 2 TB Int 3.5 Inch HDD and formatted in X tramer

Now when I attach it to my laptop as USB storage ( installed in XPro) ,after swiching on Xpro ,it is not recognised as mass storage.
What will the problem?
The LEDs esp red one frantically blink but no recognisation.

Also Do i need to connect Xpro to screen and go into USB storage mode?

Appriciate quick responce as want to start it ASAP,and insted of searching on net I know our forum is suber capable!:)

1. Firmware update is not must, but nice to stay updated.
2. I connect internal HDD either via ESATA or USB but without switching on the xT Pro. I just supply power from 220V socket.

FW update was breeze and yes it is recognised as HDD

A?B swich was wronmgly pressed and so it was not showing as EXT HDD

How easy to set up WLAN for NOOB like me? Or expert help required?
