Does Xtreamer play DTS HD MA ?

I have heard from forums that Realtek has a issue with both

1073& 1283 chipsets . This means Xstreamers which usees 1283 cannot play DTS HD MA .. .

Can any one clarify ?

As of yet it cannot bitstream HD audio and this is due to some Liscensing Issues going on between the Dolby/DTS labs vs xtreamer team, if you go through their forum then this point is clearly mentioned that their hardware is capable of bitstreaming HD audio but as of now they have put it on hold due to these liscensing problems. When a track with HD audio is played on Xtreamer then instead of Hd Audio it bitstreams Lossy Dolby Or Dts audio.

has any one tried it yet ?

With this FW I'm able to play commercial DVDs which were not playing earlier I tried with DVD drive of my laptop over the wlan, I think it will also work with DVD attached to the XT's usb.

Just curious to know if I attach the "usb dvd writer" to the XT, is it possible to burn the dvds ....may be with some hack/script running from the laptop on the network ?

Those of you who have ordered and awaiting eTRAYz, the shipment which was to begin in the first week of December has got delayed:sad:. The same should take place by 20th December 2009, i was told.

Guys I have recieved my eTRAYz today and it was delivered by DHL. Good news is that I didn't had to pay any customs duty. Wow. Will install a HDD and test it tonight. Will post a review of the same soon.

I am at the Office and its kept here with me unpacked so will check it out tonight, might even give you a call to set it up properly as I am not a networking guy whereas you have some experience in this department.

After recieving the eTRAYz I enquired few dealers of HDD who were selling on ebay india, there a 1TB internal HDD was selling at 4500 and a 1.5 TB hdd for 7250. Then I decided to go to Nehru Place which is very near to my place and I also happen to know a couple of dealers and distributers there. There I ended up buying a WD internal 1.5 Tb Hdd for 6k another option was segate which was cheaper by another 150 bucks but I thought of sticking with WD itself due to lesser failure rates specially in these sizes. A 2Tb internal HDD was quoted at 10k so it was out of the question right now. I will fill just one bank in the eTRAYz right now and would fill up the other with a 2Tb when prices are reduced.

As of now I am trying to configure it, and its not easy for sure. Guys with no knowledge of networking will find it really hard to install and configure this thing. Most probably I will post my experience about it tomorrow morning.

Dont mix with 1.5TB and 2TB try to keep both same capacity as it helps in configuring the RAID, so you got the 59 euro offer or reguler price, how much customs guys charged you means all what i wanted to know is detailed pricing :indifferent14: as even i like to invest in this product my 1TB is full apart from loading one more 320 GB.

In my earlier post I have mentioned that I didn't pay any customs duty as the invoice value was of mere 39US$ which doesn't attract any duty.

Anyone updated to latest firmware 2.1 / 2.1.1 / 2.1.2?

At present I am running 2.02. I am quite happy with the performance now. The only feature important in the new update (at least for me) is the support for encrypted DVD. So I am hesitating to update fearing it may break some existing functionality.

I have read on other forums that different users had different experiences with the latest updates. Some are happy, some are not happy saying that there are regressions.

So, I would like to know from all our Xtreamer friends on this forum - your experiences with the new updates

Bought MX HDMI cable for 700 bucks(MRP was 1260 bucks) and both side end pins can rotate 180 degree cool stuff, also bought Western Digital Scorpio 500 GB 2.5" SATA drive to put in Xtreamer media player.
