Yamaha sw315 vs Taga harmony tsw-200 ??

Hi i am looking for subwoofer with the budget where Yamaha yst sw315 and taga harmony tsw200 both possible. The setup i want to use with is pioneer vsx-1131 with taga harmony Tav-606 tower+center+surround 5.1 speaker.
Why i want subwoofer
The tower itself produce good amount of bass but some deep bass have low volume then it should be for e.g i was listening to a punjabi song ( illegal weapon) on my onkyo HTib 3700 which have subwoofer so this particular song have 2 deep bass notes in between song one is more deeper than the other so on my onkyo setup the first note is louder than the other but on my pioneer+taga setup the second note is louder than the first few days after noticing that i went to watch ipl match at ferozshah stadium Delhi there they had very good sound system specially bass covering whole ground. So there the same song start playing and the first bass note is louder than the second hence looking for nice budget subwoofer which can produce deep bass.

The Yamaha specs says 10inch 20hz-above and taga specs are 12inch 25hz-above. I checked some reviews of yamaha people says it produce good deep bass but 20hz is exeterate and mostly it is good for smaller to moderate area not loud enough for large room. Taga dont have any reviews but some user says its boomy than deep chest thumping.

Please help making decision.

The Yamaha specs says 10inch 20hz-above and taga specs are 12inch 25hz-above. I checked some reviews of yamaha people says it produce good deep bass but 20hz is exeterate and mostly it is good for smaller to moderate area not loud enough for large room.

Without measuring the sub-woofer response, it is hard to say which of these produces the lowest response..

Taga TSW-200 with a bigger driver (12) should be fairly able to reach lows..

Taga dont have any reviews but some user says its boomy than deep chest thumping.

A subs performance is dictated by room placement.. Otherwise results can vary..

There are some ideal location for sub in every room.. By placing it there, any avg sub also would sound good..

Between the two, i would suggest Taga TSW 200..

Thanks for reply. I like the built quality of taga and what they are offering for same price also taga subwoofer have damping material inside where Yamaha subwoofer dont have any damping material inside just plain mdf board box( as seen in some disassembly videos on YouTube ) but sw315 is old and tested model available worldwide where taga is polish disguised Chinese brand. That is what making me confuse other than frequency response.

I ask owners of these two please share honest review of your subwoofer please.

taga is polish disguised Chinese brand.

This is the same other brands too.. Some use "Designed / engineered in Europe" and made in "China".. Could be because of manufacturing costs..You shouldn't worry abt the brand.. If you are convinced with Taga and if it is in your budget, you should get it..

I have dual Taga Harmony Platinum SW 10 v2 models.. Before purchase, the specs mentioned that it is capable of 20Hz.. After purchase, when i happen to measure for ideal room response, it was doing 23Hz.. So, its close to the spec..

But try to place the (any) sub in ideal room locations for optimum performance..

Honestly, it is better to audition with your kind of music and decide.....there are many subs which are decent for small / medium / large rooms.....

There are dedicated threads on Taga, Yamaha, BIC America, Pioneer, etc where owners have posted their comments and experience..you should read those reviews as it is their first hand experience.

I personally use a BIC America PL 200 which costs anywhere between 35k to 40k....its a 12 inch and operates between 23/24hz to 200hz.....it does go very low for music and movies and is great value....thats my view and few others who own the same.

Hence it is important to audition and read reviews before taking a call.....no point buying a sub which can perhaps deliver 5hz more lower than your front speakers......

If budget is a challenge, look at pre owned (if available) in For Sale by owner or olx or Quikr

Hi, maybe i can find Yamaha YST SW-315 for audition but i dont thing there is any chance i can find taga tsw-200 for audition. If you know any place in Delhi or NCR please let me know. Also i didnt find any owners post or comment for tsw-200 other than Amazon.in review please dharing if you know some.
My Towers are rated 40hz so i think both subwoofer can fit for me. Am i right?

If I were you and want to enjoy almost full spectrum of frequencies....i would go for a sub which can deliver 23/24hz onwards.....

How you measure ideal room response?

Thru a microphone & using REW software.. I did that when i was trying to get acquaintance with measuring sub-woofer response & ideal room placement..

So from above 2 i should pick Yamaha yst sw315 as it is rated 20hz and have active servo technology so if not 20hz it can atleast deliver 23-24 Hz .

It possible would deliver the frequency.....depending on your listening area...you need to decide if it will suffice...in terms of volume output...so that the room has ample bass to enjoy....

My friend uses the same paired with BOSE 901s Series IV ....room size is around 400 sq ft.....he is not a bass head and loves nominal levels of playback.....

Check the rate...also check warranty / service......usually whatever is sold online through Amazon or Ebay etc does not get warranty or service....be double sure and write to Yamaha India to confirm.....

Bottom line....Audition where possible before purchase
