Help in buying a silent split Ac

I am based in Bangalore. My priority is NOT cooling but a bearable temperature in my room (27 C works well for me). A quiet AC is my top priority. A local AC dealer suggested that since Bangalore does not have extreme weather conditions, and I my AC usage are a few hours at best, even a 2 star rating is good enough. The following models were suggested:
1.0TR Mitsubishi 3 star - MSY-JS13VF
1.0TR Mitsubishi 4 star - MSY-GN13VF
1.0TR Mitsuishi 2 star - MSY-JP13VF

The only reason I would want to go for the 4 star rating is that it’s 19db at Silent mode. The other 2 models are @22db. I am wondering if there is any noticeable difference between the two db levels. The price difference between 2 and 4 stars is around Rs 7k.
If 22db is really quiet enough, I am planning to just pick up the 2 star one. The dealer is offering 30% discount on the MRP. What would you recommend?

And, does one really need an inverter AC given that repairs are very expensive? They have their advantages, no doubt. The lowest db level Mitsubishi non inverter ACs I have come across on their website (Electric) is 26db.

Thanks.
Why don't you consider daikin? They are known for silent operation & should be cheaper too..

go with mitsubishi, have used them and their inverter type is world class, daikin also very good. Make sure the model you buy is fully copper coils internal and external.

Sorry for hijacking the thread....I dont have an AC in my room, which is also my bedroom cum music room. Both the AC's in the other 2 bedrooms sometimes drop condensation below. And since my tubed gear lies exactly below my AC point in the room, Ive been too scared to mount an AC here so far, as a single drop or splutter on high temperature tube will kill the amp completely. So was just curious if anyone else has noticed this condensation dripping from the indoor AC casing. Both the AC's in the other rooms are LG
LG , Panasonic , MHI , OG mostly have the same issue . Problem is with the fins which are too close and the fins have additional punching for more efficiency which causes the dust to get trapped . Regular water washing and not regular "service" will work .

The reason why the lowest DB for non inverter is 26 is due to the fact that the compressor runs at full speed . So the indoor fan cannot spin at too low speed else the coil will freeze . Especially with R32 /R410 gas . With an inverter if low fan speed is chosen and the ambient temperature is not too high the compressor will work at 50 % or lesser . So lower noise .

Finally, picked up the 1.0TR Mitsuishi 2 star - MSY-JP13VF.
Very quiet. Doesn’t make it presence felt. Good enough for Bangalore weather.
Looking to buy 1T & 1.5T INVERTER A/c’s, I’ve shortlisted a 3star MHI SRK13 YXPw6 for the 1T & MElectric MSY JS18VF for the 1.5T also a 3star.
Room sizes are 220sqft & 110sqft.

Need some advise, if I should pull the trigger.

My intent to install the AC in the listening room was only for minimal cooling with least AC noise.
Mitsubishi was the only brand (as far as my research went) that offered the lowest decibel level in the vicinity of 20 db in eco mode.

I stay in Bangalore, where weather is cold for most part of the year; quick, intense cooling was not a priority/nor needed. So, I settled for a 2 star rating. 1 ton AC was enough for my room.

If you want an AC with the lowest noise, Mitsubishi has some great numbers; otherwise there are other less expensive options you can consider.

Looking for a non mitusbishi heavy Industries, carrier Acs.
My top end 1 ton mitsubishi heavy industries in my bedroom stopped working on jan 27 and till today no resolution is given.
The unit threw a fan defect code. Two service guys visited at different times and concluded it was the mother board fault.
They replaced it after a month. The ac was still dead. Then they concluded it was the fan issue on 2nd of this month. Today is 20th. They couldn’t replace the fan. Today another engineer visited and checked again and has taken the fan motor and motherboard with him.
Imagine, the unit became faulty in january and even in april 2nd half they couldn’t fix it? Imagine paying 60k for a 1ton ac and this is the service I got. This is in bedroom and my 1 year old child has got prickly heat all over his body. And the representative who is in touch with me has a thick skin and cared nothing.
I was an avid promoter of MHI.

Now I realised, bad performance is okay than no performance at all.

Hence looking for an option for my music room.

How good are the LG 2025 models?

An update. MHI said the fan motor is gone and they are charging Rs 6300 + service charge for the motor. I remember spending a fraction of cost for my hitachi 1 tonner. Atleast, I am getting my bedroom ac working again in a day or two.
Still eyeing on an LG 1 ton for my music room. Lets see how it turns out.

Sometimes just like audio, good brands are marked with bad dealers or technicians who try to fleece or have lack of knowledge. I have a Mitsubhishi Electric AC since 2018 running without any issues with good cooling till now and the dealer/technicians are quite good and no complaints so far.

yes. Just that the technician from my area was useless. Now, the Tamilnadu service head has asked technician from the nearby zone to take care of my case.

Next time buy Ogeneral incase if you stay nearby the coastal or the dump yard.

One additional info, in chennai mitsubishi does not offer extended warranty for cooling coils.

LG 2025 models - seems ok for now ( 1T , about one month of usage ).
my decision was purely based on convenience/serviceability - readily available in general and was promised next day Installation which they did.

One new feature on these units is to run at 80/60/40% of the rated capacity. And yes they are very silent at 40% ( a lot better than Daikin and Sharp currently in use ).

Why dump yard? I’m confused.
