No HD after software update in Tata sky HD

i am talking about getting dolby digital through hdmi,not video,now i need both hdmi and spdif(for DD), because with only hdmi i am getting only pcm
i dont need hd through component

Strangely in TS User settings-> Sound Settings, Connection type is getting default to SPDIF even though I changed to HDMI. If I remove CoAxial cable..no Sound. Any comments???

for tata sky HD (non recorder) update did happened but works fine.. however everytime i turn it on .. it gives a pop-up of changing the resolution to get better quality even when its on 1080i

Hehe, what was that??? Component output is ONLY FOR VIDEO! It doesn't carry audio unless you use the regular LR Stereo "composite" outputs with it!

Hehe, you seems to be another member lost in the settings layout of TS/TS+HD

There is NOTHING as DEFAULT there, you are doing it wrongly, you just have to switch to "HDMI" option and change the setting below it from PCM to DD and SAVE IT! Should work then if you have TS HD (as indicated, doesn't work on TS+HD).

Check above! You seems to be doing it wrong way. Its the same way you set the aspect ratio of SD TV! You need to first switch to SD there and choose 16:9 for your HDTV to get 16:9 output for 16:9 content and can choose stretch and pillarbox for 4:3 accordingly.

Let me know if you do get DD after setting it the RIGHT way

I believe your TV is full HD and thats the best resolution you should use. I also get that message when I hard reboot it, but thought I am getting it since I have an HD Ready TV and it wants me to switch to 720p.

yes, i have done the "right way" as you say above.For getting DD i still need to connect through SPDIF port

also can u please point towards the sod thread where you found dolby is available through hdmi, when i checked there, they also say it is still only through spdif,

Same here. Also the audio is Nat Geo HD is not proper. The dialogs/narrations comes through the rear channel.

I am little confused here..if output type is SPDIF, how will it be from HDMI? Have you tried removing Coaxial cable and check the audio?

I've taken only HDMI connection from Setup box this time. Alhough I've tested with the coax also and it works well on that too. Seems Tata Sky has enabled SPDIF and HDMI Both and you can get DD5.1 on HDMI as well coaxial at same time.

Thanks..I just checked removing CoAxial. Working fine. Output Type setting couldn't stay in HDMI..hence the confusion.

Also one extra setting in audio which was present on SD box but missing in HD -
Preferred Audio Level - used for default audio level on power cycle.

Yes I got a call from Mr Nityanand form CEO helpdesk they are getting many complaints for this issue and he consulted their tech team which is working itseems.

More the mails and escalations they will fix it soon.
