Suggest me good speakers than Bose 201 series V

Guys I am living in Chennai for past 1 year but i am comfortable with Bangalore. In Chennai finding shops offering these speakers are difficult. Travel is a pain and the guys in the shop are not that much friendly. That's why i approach this forum for decision. Bose is some what near to me ( 1 hr travel ). ProFx in chennai is offering only 1312xp and polk audio. Can't try yamaha, paradigm, Energy, Wharfedale. I am just looking online for best deals comparing various websites.

Just i have Samsung 40 inch LED smart tv. Will connect Videocon D2h or any other dish network. Watch mostly Hollywood movies, music channels and play music from my usb drive. Bass is not a big matter for me because i watch movies for a long time. But enough amount of bass is acceptable and i think some speakers comes with bass modules. Although they are not effective as dedicated, i think they are enough for a living room.

Is it really necessary to buy an AVR, if so plz give me reason. I am lot more confused about AVR. I am thinking that they will provide surround sound and make amplification to your video and audio.

Two book shelf speakers with a center speaker is enough to produce good amount of listening sound or should go for 5.1 HTIB like Denon 1312xp or Yamaha HTIB which usually have better features.

Denon 1312XP or Onkyo HT-S3500 would be great to start with but they cost between 25-30k, so you would need to stretch your budget. These will give you decent 5.1 audio at a really good price.

You really do need a receiver for 5.1 or a stereo amp for music, this will be the heart of your system. IF you want just start with only 2 speakers but the speakers would need a receiver/amp to drive them.

As far as now going for an AVR with three front speakers will cost 35 to 40 thousand with out sub. What i want is the music and movies should be crisp and clear. My living room is rectangular in shape so i don't want to hang two speakers along the corners because i think by doing like that the sound won't be acoustically good. That's why am going for an AVR, two Bose 201 book shelf or klipsch or cambridge audio and should buy a center speaker.

if any body wants to suggest me by checking out my living room. I can post the pics.

Harmon Kardon also comes for 30k like denon 1312xp and onkyo 3500.

I feel there is some confusion here..............you probably feel you can hook up the small speakers to the receiver. If they are tiny satellite speakers you definitely need a subwoofer. Most 5.1 satellite speakers systems comprise a subwoofer, and they all are hooked to the receiver.
If you only need 2 or 3 speakers then it will have to be 2.1 or 3.1...........the sub has to be there. If you want to skip the sub you need to get bookshelf or floor stander speakers. A sub is not so much needed for music as it is for movies.
Also all speakers should be from the same family for perfect timbre matching. Would not really recommend to get the fronts and centre from different brands.

Any book shelf speaker better than Bose 201 ( 12300).

If you start a thread on BOSE almost every forum member will advise you against them, so please DO NOT TOUCH BOSE!!! I am surprised we are even discussing BOSE here. Don't want to offend you or sound rude but there are much better sounding speakers there with better value for money.

So akaash, what are the good options in that range? I know only one worth considering. Norge millenium mkII. DNM high end bookshelf speaker is superb too but cost is 15k. Wharfdale in that range are no good. Have heard about CA s30 but never got a chance to hear them actually. Did not like JBL control 1. Too sharp for my liking. One option is Behringer passive studio monitors costing 6.5k per piece available on Bajaao.com. However Behringer is bashed in pro circuit in same way as Bose is bashed here. I think we all need to explore pro audio gear.

Please don't oppose Bose 201 V series unless you can suggest me Book shelf speakers which are latest and crisp clear in 12500 INR range.

Suggest me where can i get used Marantz or Denon AVR. Already posted in WANTED section.

Yes I know people hate Bose but 201 v series are really good stereo speakers and I auditioned them. Klipse is very costly for me to buy

Bose 201 is definitely a good speaker at least to my ears. 301 is even better. I am saying this even at risk of getting bashed. If you like it and if it is in your budget, why exactly are you searching for something else? you are not likely to get anyrhing better than that(of any non indian brand) in your budget

@OP: try ordering the pioneer BS21 from newegg if you are ok with some risk.. There were a few open box pairs available till yesterday. At $40 per pair they should be within your budget even with shipping and customs added.
