Price is what I decide, as he want to get rid of this. He's just removing clutter as he doesn't listen to music.
That's better. Any figure in your mind?
And I dont mind to be a garbage collector for vintage crush.
Good justification

+1 to Nick. It is not the correct way to ascertain the price esp. for electronics, that too from the 90s or even early 2000s.
Electronics were exorbitantly expensive in the 90s, at least in India. Parents bought a VCR for about 20K in 1989. That was 25 years ago. I cannot, in my remotest dreams think of selling it for money. I will be lucky if it is 'given away' to someone who uses it personally.
Also, in the last 10 years, the prices of electronics have fallen sharply. Be it speakers, mobile phones, consumer electronics or anything like that. In fact, my younger cousins laugh at my 'obsolete' Nokia phone that I bought for 12K a few years ago. They happily (& supremely) flash their 6-8K Galaxy phones and they are actually superior. (I am not an android guy anyway). Same is true for entry level bikes and cars too.
I will deduce that average consumer level items cannot be priced by taking the inflation as the benchmark; else I am willing to 'sell' you my VCR along with my Nokia!![]()
And this is Japan make.
May be the main unit origin is Japan not the speakers. Check if the speaker has CO or simply printed Aiwa Co., Ltd Tokyo Japan w/o the CO (marketing gimmick).
IMO...the real Aiwa vintage is with logo in caps AIWA

Will check. If it meet the criteria, will post a photo here.
Good justification. However, sorry to dampen your spirit, may other enthusiasts also comment, I have a feeling that it is just not 'vintage' equipment, as of now at least.
I have a feeling that this one can be great vintage speakers as the owner says the CD deck is crap, only the speakers worth the money paid. Even when it was new. And this is Japan make.
I guess I'll get it for 5k. I can decide after listening. That option is given. I guess 5k does not harm both.
That guy doesn't have amplifier now. So tomorrow only I'll know the performance. My gut feeling is that I'll get much more value than paying money.
Anyhow its about product than just price.
It's not vintage, it is ordinary twenty-year-old domestic, at a time when ordinary sound systems were much more ordinary than they are now
^ and how much did you end up paying for them??
Can we possibly save you from yourself? Don't do this!
This thing is worthless. It is junk-shop stuff. The rest died, and the only reason the speakers didn't was lack of mechanics. If not, then you should get the whole thing for 5,000.
It is your money, and I have wasted far more in far sillier ways, but what really annoys me is the thought of that guy charging you real money for this.
But yes, these are certainly not vintage. somewhere between 500-800 would be a fair price for these.
No offence intended. What justifies that price?
Most of you reading this thread must be thinking that I m silly or crazy.
