40" Plasma - Buying Help Needed

Bought P42X30 today from Reliance DIgital for 34k. I had negotiated for 32.7k last week.

But the sales guy told me today that the prices have increased and all that crap.. After I told him that I'd rather buy elsewhere now, he bundled a 100 movies DVD pack which comes free with LG 3D TVs Saw the list and found some nice English movies and decent hindi movies. even at 20 bucks/movie - it was a decent deal and went for it

Waiting for the delivery tomorrow. The TV looks very washed out in Showroom conditions! Looks like the showroom guys dont want to sell plasmas.

Now, have to decide on a HD connection. Confused b/w Tata and Airtel!

Congrats Panny & welcome to the club...I have Airtel HD & I have no complaints so far..If possible try to get a glimpse of both of these together and decide...not sure if u will be able to get this together...

P.S. I never used to watch crazy unrealistic english movies like transformers before, but ever since this happened(plasma tv), I am watching one after the other simply to appreciate the PQ!

Hello Freak,

I myself is hit by this bug ever since I started watching Star Movies HD, Movies Now HD so I can very well understand how u feel...this is a crazy fever...I just cant explain...so just enjoy!!

I can relate to this Baala...You know what, the day I bought this, till that time I was pressed by my wife to buy a LED, my cousin already owned an LCD so he was also suggesting LCD or LED but I was consistent on Plasma...I was firm on this and took my cousin to HyperCity to do the final level of comparision between all 3....and u cant believe he was clean bowled by the Plasma clarity & came my side to convince my wife....after that we bot Plasma & every single day I am going thru the same thing...I keep teasaing my wife to get more praise on my choice :yahoo:

What is a good source to download tested & approved HD/FULL HD movies from internet...so far I am using www.kat.ph (www.kickasstorrents.com) & I am satisfied...is there any other better source?

U know all that the bug is working well...lol

One question, if the source (actual shows of say AXN, MTV etc) is in HD why wouldn't other DTH vendors, telecast them in HD. I guess most of these are upscaled versions (or remastered) by Videocon like Dish TV which claims most number of HD channels but in reality are upscaled versions (or remastered).

I have seen only Discovery & Nat Geo have shows recorded and telecast in HD. Not sure of others.

Any observation?

HD channel are diffrent from SD channnel.. they broadcast separately & recived separately... Even Programme, content & schedule also different in HD channels from SD channals...... DTH vendors just recieving the HD channel feed & showing to us... So Star Plus & Starplus HD two different channels .. not the same.

I got your point. But saying Dish TV/ Videocon DTH has more HD channels then others (Airtel/Tata Sky) would be a fools observation, in my opinion. If Dish can receive a particular programme in HD so can Tata sky or Airtel. But the problem
is they Dish upscales them (channels which are non HD recorded > telecast), compared to say Starplus, which has HD recorded content.

Hope I have not confused any more.
