46" or 47" LED TV....Help, is LG47LE4600 Good!

Hi terence_fdes,
I'm planning to buy a new LED tv 42". Could you please let me know how this new LG 47LE4600 works. I heard that it has a good sound o/p of 460W. Can I go for it or

jagadishareddy ,
I even have LE5500 on my mind but it has less sound o/p of 200W. Is that sufficient enough.........Could you plz throw some light on that......

What you have quoted about sound is PMPO. Anyways my set's sound is awesome. For normal TV channel viewing you DO NOT have to put on ur home theatre system. At home for normal viewing we barely exceed level 10-15 on the audio scale [whereas on Sony or samsung or other LG series u have to right up to 40-50 levels.

The LG4600 series really rocks and I have already given many reasons why this is the best LED that gives u total value-for-money. So go for it 42" or 47".

Hi Terence,
Great to see ur reply.. Thanks very much... I did make enquiry abt this 42" LE4600 and they offer me at 61,600 with the LG blu-ray. Is this a good deal. I'm impressed with the set. But one last question as this is going to be a big time decision. Samsung has more true colors and the pictures looks very original when compared to LG. Do LG also produce the same quality when compared to Samsung.

Did u compared the same video played on both the tv?yup 42"led with bluray player for 61k seems to be a awesome deal.

Ya,
I had a chance to look into both sets of Samsung and LG but the point is they played with Bluray and both of them were placed far apart and couldn't make a right decision.

Second point is does the new panel added to the LG, could it make glare at any time because of backlight...

Third, what's the cost of Blu ray DVD around the market, I heard it is costing 500INR. Do we have any second or third rated Blu ray dvd which doesn't bite my pocket, only based on this I will be taking the decision to skip the Bluray player offer or keep and enjoy.

Plz help me with my queries.............

There are bluray rips available in gray markets for lesser price too but I would not recomend it. Anyways you can always take the bluray player and sell it to better price rather getting a penny discount... :)

Glare does not affect the LG panel as much. In fact I found it's viewing angle to be the best among Sony & Samsung. I am extremely satisfied with my 47" set LE4600 and where PRICE is concerned it beats the other two.

Ask them to give u a demo of SD signals [normal TV] - this however is passable on any large-screen LED TV's.

I rejected the "blu-ray" offer for the reasons I mentioned earlier. BTW I am going in for a HD-Media Player - Either WD or AC Ryan Playon is a few days.

I assure u that if u go for LG - u will not regret it

Hi terence_fdes, did you get a gorrila glass with the tv for screen protection? I would appreciate some pics of the TV also.

Ya I checked with the normal tv O/P to check for SD but all they have is SUNDIRECT HD and it was awesome. So can I buy this and get a HD dish connected like an AIRTEL which can give me more clarity. I currently own a normal Reliance Big TV , Any idea on what dish I could go now which supports all channels with HD.. Which dish gives me an upperhand for this... Also I don't have any knowledge on this PMPO. What does it mean. 460W is a better sound output than any LED tv can give. What shud be the sufficient sound O/P for any LED TV if I'm watching the tv at 20 feet distance.

Please help. I am foxed! What on Earth is a GORILLA GLASS ?

I dunno BUT one of the reasons that I chose LG is that their screen has a wonderful "protective cover" which is not seen on Sony/Samsung - so there is no way any accidental scratches can come over it.

hi folks,
i am seeing LG42LE5300 which is not mentioned so far in this extremely useful discussion
it is not having the cons pointed out by TERENCE as the unnecessary features like NETCAST etc and having better contrast ratio of 3000000:1
can somebody comment up on this in the angle of value for money
regards
babu

Thanks, but I have got my answer. How is the glass mounted on the screen, is it permanently fixed? And any seperate charge that you had to pay for the glass?

Guys I checked out the SD for all the brands and man yuck I just got heart-broken for it's completely pixalated and unworthy PQ. I'm a person who watches Reliance BIG tv most of the time and when the SD quality is so poor and only 5-8 HD channels being available for the SD, I'm quite upset and have dropped the plan of getting an LED, will get one when the number of HD channels increases.

Please remember that most TV sales showrooms show picture from a common feed- without any signal boosting. That is the main reason why SD quality sucks. On a single feed, like at home, the picture quality should be better.

guys i am planning to get LG42LE4600.. so those who already purchased, plz tell me about the PQ of SD content.. also the price details. and also i have a thought on pana v20.. plz guide.. me..

Read backwards all da way to the top of this thread for all ur answers. PQ of SD content deteriorates as one goes higher up the "size" i.e a 32" would be best and a 55" - worst. On full HD-1080 sets u would see greater distortions than a HD ready set 720p.

With a little patience - most channels would telecast in HD by the end of this year.:D

Dharminder i got LG47LE4600 for 66.5 from an LG-Shoppe in Mumbai [after exchanging my 29" & rejecting the Bluray player BD-550]. Try and go to as many dealers in your area. Cheers

I also want to buy LG47LE4600 in Bangalore. Not seeing the rates anywhere closer to 65K as well. If someone has a better deal in Blore around this price range, please let me know
